Sage was my birthday present in the summer of 06. She was an energetic girl. In order to entertain herself she would run around chasing after her shadow. The stinker would often pretend not to hear me, and run of chasing her shadow instead of coming over. She hated to be locked up.This had nothing to do with how she was handled as a pup. It was all in her personality. She loved the outdoors. Because she had wolf blood in her, her bark wasnt that of the typical Shepherd. It was a woo, woo, woo instead of a bark. :) She was extremely independent. She was not a cuddler, but a watcher instead. The pictures I have of her make her seem regal. She wasnt!!! She was my crazy sily girl. Playing tug-o-war with her sister Yodi, teasing her brother Kai, she was a real trouble maker. She could always make me smile. One trick she would always do was give me kissesÂ. I would hold out my hands and she would jump up and lick my face. She was always happy too. She was at her absolute best when there were little kids around. I was always amazed by how gentle shed suddenly become. She would hold oh so still and carefully lick their faces. Too sweet. The pictures of her were taken when she was about 1 year old. Still a puppy! :) I lost her when she was just a little over 2 and a half. I had no warning. Her stomach flipped. We rushed her to the animal hospital as fast as we could, but, we were too late. Her stomach had begun to burst. It was painful, but I knew she had nothing but happy memories of Earth. I smile when I think of her....... I know shell never have to be locked up ever again. And someday when I see her, we can run free with all our animal friends together.
