Sami is my first dog and we did everything wrong. We bought him at a pet store, paid too much, he had a hernia and a crooked foot, and although he is a Bichon Shi Tzu he must be a 2nd generation as he is about 3 times as big as he should be. None of that matters of course because he is a warm, loving, fearless companion and we have grown and learned together. He loves to play with big people, little people and dogs. His favourite toy is any ball and he loves to steal our stuff and trade it back for a cookie. He's a great swimmer and likes to play in the snow, an all season dog.
