Sissy's story is probably similar to a lot of rescue dogs, but nevertheless, it deserves to be told. Sissy was abandoned by her owners at a vet after refusing to pay for services provided by that vet. She was taken in by Franklin, TN's Critter Calvary organization and after neutering and teeth cleaning, given a good home. But the owner returned her, stating that Sissy was too cloying. In the meantime, I'm looking for a Jack Russell terrier on Petfinder.com and one Sunday afternoon, I see her face. Although I continued to search the many canine faces throughout the site, her face haunted me. Within 30 minutes, I had zapped off an email. The Monday I went to pick up Sissy, I was a bundle of nerves, as I was afraid that she wouldn't like me, but I walked into that room, picked her up and cuddled her without thinking. Sissy licked my hand on the way home and that night, she slept on my chest. We bonded very quickly, as we surely needed each other. Sissy is 8# of blond Chihuahua with a sharp mind and keen instincts. She is extremely intelligent, but make no mistake, there is still a lot of puppy left in her who loves to play. She enjoys her treats and biscuits and lots of belly scritchles.
