Hello. Slinky is adorable. I have a mini doxie named Zeus, who was also very blue and tan as a puppy. Zeus will be 2 November 11th! A few weeks after his final (16 wk) vaccinations he began to show signs of what seemed like a neuromuscular disorder. He was knuckling when he walked, his gait wasnât right, and his neck seemed stiff. Long story short, after several thousands of dollars in vet bills, various tests (MRIs, Spinal Tap for CSF, blood tests, serum titers, etc.) and a lot of puppy ICU at the Guelph University Vet College, Zeus was diagnosed as having aseptic meningitis, which was triggered by his 16 wk vaccinations. Doxie's with his coloring are genetically pre-disposed to such reactions. Since his own immune system was causing the damage to his nervous system, Zeus had to be treated with high dose prednisone and eventually pediatric transplant drugs to suppress his immune system, as well as prophylactic antibiotics, antivirals and antifungals for several months before he could even play outside again. When I saw Slinky on the front page I thought I should pass this information on. It took a lot of tests to figure out exactly what was going on with Zeus and I wouldn't want anyone to lose a furry family member.
Hi, would you please please please tell me where you got Slinky?? I have an Izzy born 5/5/2010 and am trying to find another silver Izzy or a blue, and I think he is not only gorgeous in color but he has a beautiful build :). I would love to know if the breeder is still producing blue's similar to him. LOVE all your pictures!!
Take Care,
