Gus is a twelve-year-old shepherd mix who was adopted more than eleven years ago from a Chicago shelter. Although once an energetic pup, he now prefers long snoozes on the couch to long walks on the beach. He is getting a little arthritic, blind, and deaf, but he still enjoys the occasional romp with the puppies on the block (provided said romp does not last more than thirty to forty-five seconds). He is much loved and very happy in his forever home. He is also a big proponent of shelter adoption!

Gus is awesome :) I love the first picture too. We have a lab mix and a GSD mix so I can imagine how Gus is a perfect mix of those breeds. It's obvious that he is very well loved and he looks like the best loyal pal.
The first picture of Gus melted my heart. What a wonderful dog! There is something so special about senior dogs and I believe it's an honor to care for them. I know you must have a very special bond with Gus, so my wish for you and Gus is many more lazy days with him and......time.

Looks like you have had lots of lovin' all these years. Mommy must have taken good care of you. Your toothers look like they have been brushed. Those puppies can be exhausting for anyone. You have earned the right to do what you want. I have a 14 yo dachsie. Her nose is all grey, actually she is getting grey all over. I have a magnet on the fridge that says--- Blessed is the person that has earned the love of an old dog. Bless you.
