Adorable Abby! I love the breed, they are wonderful dogs. I have two black miniature-schnauzer boys - just the same only smaller :-) Energetic, fun, playful, smart and lovable. Good luck with the agility training, Abby. I know you will be good at it! All the best!

she's a beautiful dog only what a shame her ears are cropped - the other dog looks so much more natural and i bet her ears are wonderfully silky to the touch too

What a handsome dog! I love the beard!

Abby is a beauty. My schnauzer jeannie passed away in may-tommorrow would have been her 18th birhtday-she once caught a chicken but had no idea what to do with it!

Abby has such beautiful, expressive eyes! How old is she?
It is so cool that you are going to do agility with her! I wish I could have my dog do agility, but he's a ten-year-old wirehaired dachshund.....agility, ten-year-old dachshund, not a good match. :P

Abby is 9.5 months old. I hope she does well in agility...she certainly has enough energy for it! The AKC National Agility Championship is being held close to my home this weekend so I went to watch some of the dogs. I was actually surprised to see how good some of the teeny dogs are. I was especially surprised by how great the Corgis were. I didn't think dogs with such short legs could do so well. They were very impressive!

I grew up with 2 standards - they can be scamps! Good luck with your agility training - SS can do very very well, and are smart to boot.

My female SS caught a squirrel once - we found it on the patio. We guessed it'd died of a heart attack, and it had been thoroughly *licked* to death. YUCK!

Will you be showing Abby? She's got great lines!

Give her a snuggg from me ;)

The breeder I got Abby from had originally intended to show her (which is why her ears were cropped). Luckily for me, she decided to sell her. I considered asking the breeder if I could show her, but after thinking about it, I realized I really didn’t want to deal with the hassle of having an intact dog...especially a female one. But I agree that she would have made a beautiful show dog. :)

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone! Abby and I both appreciate it. Based on your stories, I look forward to seeing what kinds of animals she'll catch in the future.

Schnauzers rule! :)

Our 2 mini schnauzers passed away in 2004-2005 at ages 15 and 16. They were fabulous dogs. We've been considering a Standard, they aren't as inbred and unhealty as the minis can be. Yours are beautiful and kudos to you for the agility classes!

Looks as if Abby has already started her agility training. Regal looking dog. I love the natural look of Maggie. She's gorgeous. Hugs and kisses.

Abby is beautiful! I have a (big) mini schnauzer, who also loves to chase animals. My vet assured me she couldn't catch squirrels, and if she did she wouldn't kill them. So far 4 dead squirrels, 2 birds and many snakes. She tried to take on a deer across the fence from our yard. We wish the vet had been correct. She is 9 yrs old and still loves the chase. Happy chasing to Abby--just hope you don't catch any.

I'm in love! <3 I myself have a miniature schnauzer, and eventhough i live in a country where cropping is forbidden - i just love them!

I recently brought a SS puppy home and the breeder had the ears cropped before I picked him up. I have been posting his ears for the past six weeks (he is 16 wks). The right ear stands up very nicely, however the left ear continues to flop ontop of his head, or point behind him. How was your experience with Abby's ears? Any suggestions?
