Clyde the Mixed Breed

Oh the look of love and adoration... such a cute boy. He has a great smile too!

He reminds me of my sweet boy, who happens to have been a black lab mix, Clyde is smaller and his ears are longer though. In some pics they could be brothers! And Clyde is my grandpa's name so, clearly, you have a very awesome pooch here. Wishing you many years of happiness with your "old" man.

He reminds me so much of my dog, Henry (Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross) that he is extra special. We don't know what Henry's father was - looking at Clyde, I guess he has some cocker or beagle in him too.

We had a dog that we rescued from a similar situation... the owner died. The kids didn't want Frisky, and threw him outside in the backyard - which was not anything he was accustomed to! He was a poodle, but by the time we got him, you would not have known it had we not seen the papers on him! He looked awful! But the next day I gave him a bath because he stunk so bad, and he was full of fleas. He was ever so grateful for that, and became my shadow for the next four years of my life until he passed away. He was never 'frisky' - just very laid back!

Clyde is adorable! It was hard to choose a favorite pose! I am so glad he is a part of your family now!

I love the expressions! He looks wise and if he is looking at all of us as "silly humans". He is adorable!

Awwww ... so cute. A mix of two of my favourite breeds - my baby is a beagle, and his best friend in the dog park is cocker spaniel. They're both very sweet natured guys, so I can only imagine how lovely Clyde must be. Love his glossy coat!

What a sweetie you are to take him in and love him; I'm sure his first mommy feels very grateful knowing he is being loved and cared for. I did the same thing awhile back..a friend sent me an email of a dog that needed a home....I was told he was only 6 years old and his owner had died...and her son took over and tied the poor sweet thing out on a stake...day and night. He had food thrown at him; if he spilled his water, he went without. I cried my heart out and knew he had to come home to me. The lady that rescued him..drove him all the way from Tennessee to New York where I am. "Bo" couldn't even walk in the house; had to be carried. I took him to the vet that afternoon; he had oily sebboreah, bilateral ear infections, malnourished and heartworm. He was cleared of the ear infections within two days; heartworm treated, and I got his weight back on in a month. Bo only lived another two years. My vet told me he was at LEAST 14 when I got him. I loved him and miss him so much. It took 6 months before he would allow me to hug and kiss him...then he would come to me every morning and stand there waiting for his hug and kiss.
Clyde reminds me of my very first dog...a black cocker spaniel named "Rags". He looks just like him. Clyde is a gorgeous boy and you are an angel for loving him and taking care of him for his first mommy. Clyde's coat is beautiful; it looks "Blue-black" which is the most beautiful shade of black. i love clyde! what a great dog. in this pic he does seem like a sweet old man. it seems he would be good therapy for those around him, just because he's always relaxed. enjoy your days with Clyde!
