Cooper originally started out as a foster dog. He was rescued from the Merced shelter as a "field stray" and brought to Wonder Dog Rescue in San Francisco, where I stepped in as the foster parent. He was scared and timid but also had this unmistakable awareness about him, which made him special. Being a cattle dog, walking on leash was a bit of a challenge as he would zigzag back and forth and continue to herd me and those around us. After a week, his want to bond with me became obvious and he became more relaxed. No one really knows Cooper's real story. But what I do know is that Cooper has been given a second chance at life and each day he finds some little way to show me how grateful he is to have this wonderful life!
