Duchess' Mom says: "He is your friend, your partner, your
defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will
be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe
it to him to be worthy of such devotion." - Unknown
This is the paragraph that should've come with her:
Duchess is a beautiful Mastiff who is a rescue from North Carolina. She was found with 60 other dogs in a trailer, was severely emaciated and sick with a tick born illness called ehrlichia. Southern States Mastiff Rescue took her in and she had an amazing foster mom who nursed her back from near death. She's got an amazing spirit and will to live and never ceases to show me just how spunky she is when I come home! She loves to hold my hand with her mouth and paw at me when I'm not devoting 100% of my attention to her. She loves her sister Shadow, and also loves play dates with Great Danes and other Mastiffs. She is absolutely spoiled rotten and at 130 lbs, she's convinced she can fit in my lap. She's my little furry angel.
The quote brought a smile to my face; her story brought tears to my eyes. I'm so glad that she has a loving home. I'm furious at the conditions she had to endure before she was saved. People who mistreat animals, children and elders are the lowest form of human because they go after the ones who can not defend themselves. :x Duchess is a big, wonderful, beautiful dog who deserves all the love you are giving her. Many, many happy years with this lovely lady.
A very happy ending to a very sad, but unfortunately, too often story about our prescious fur babies. Duchess looks like sweetness and love. Hugs and kisses.
So adorable!!!! She looks like she is very content and spoiled. I just love the Mastiff! And getting a dog from a rescue is one of the best and most rewarding thing you can do! God Bless you and your precious Duchess. Happy Holidays to you all!
Duchess - your Mom sure loves you. Lucky dog and lucky Mom also to have found each other.
May you have many more wonderful years together.
Merry Christmas and God bless you both!
I live in Upstate South Carolina and know the abuse case your angel is from. It is great that the babies from the rescue received great aftercare and new homes. We need more photos of Dutchess. She is most definitely in my top 5 favorites. A million bisquits to you both.
It's nice to see such a loved mastiff. Her rescue story is amazing, and thank you so much to all her rescuers and to her people. It moves me so much to see such goodness, even for those dogs who get a little less respect and love sometimes, who start out badly, who walk on the side of the roads--that sometimes there's a happy ending is a good reason for a VERY Merry Christmas. Much joy and health to you all.
I adore Mastiffs... I have a red Bull Mastiff myself... my friends Bruce and Peggy own Four English Mastiffs... the sire and dam to two pups that they kept... beautiful dogs!! I cant imagine anyone mistreating a dog or anything else for that matter but lowlifes exist in this world... but thankfully people like you are there to take these angles from god in and nurse them back to their proper status in life... ANGELS!!! Thank you so much for taking Duchess in and loving her the way she was meant to be loved... you have a friend and companion for life...
