Beautiful pictures of Haley! I love the light in this one. Such a pretty Shiba! She loves all the good things in life, appreciates nature and her family. A fine reward for rescuing her, Haley is very fortunate. Best wishes!

This girl is something else - Wow! She is absolutely majestic. How on Earth did she end up in rescue? I can't imagine that anyone would voluntarily relinquish her. I'm so glad that you found each other and I hope that you and Haley have a long and wonderful life together.
BTW, this picture is perfect for a life size portrait.

This sweetheart looks exactly like my childhood dog, Sheba. She was a chow/husky mix and obviously, looked like a Shiba Inu so was named appropriately. Haley reminds me so much of her and is just a gorgeous dog.

Hi. I am the owner. Thank you for all of your nice words! We think she may be a Shiba Inu - Husky (maybe Siberian). But, we really dont know. Her first owner got her in a box of puppies at a supermarket. We were her third owner and we got her when she was a year old. Shiba Inu's are very strong willed and some people try to break them, which doesnt work. This breed is best left to someone who has a lot of time to give to the dog so you can really bond with them. People who work long hours away from home and can only manage short moments with them will have a very hard time. Shiba's dont like to be ignored. Haley is very curious and independent, so she cannot be left off the lead. She will immediately run to go investigate and then you will have a real challenge to get them back. Shes a great family dog and shes not losing any of her spirit as she gets older! Mike

Haley looks so elegant and wise. I love the picture of her curled up...with her coloring she looks like the most beautiful fox!! I'm glad to hear that she isn't losing her spirit as she so gracefully ages- older dogs hold a very special place in my heart. Many more years of love to you both!

Hi, My wife and I found these pictures through our Google desktop link and thought we were actually looking at Sandi, our own two year old crossbreed. The resemblance is uncanny, even down to the comment that Haley looks like a fox, a comment that has been made to us many times since we got our dog.
Haley is a very beautiful and obviously contented dog and we hope that she and your family have many more happy times together over the years.

Just discovered this site. Haley could be MY Libby Ann (yes, she deserves a middle name also). Libby Ann was a 911 rescue. Her owner never came home to her, and she spent the next several weeks after that horrible event being shuffled from Staten Island to Yonkers to Nyack, NY, where I read about her and adopted her In November of 2001. It was heartbreaking to see how she looked for her owner in several people for almost 6 months afterward. She was written up in the Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 911 cronicals kept at the Hastings library as "A Letter from Libby", which read as a letter from her to her former owner, assuring him she was alright, and that she would see him again on the Rainbow Bridge.! She is now a happy, well-adjusted Shikoku/Sheba. Something wonderful came out of something so terrible.

Hi, Haley is the best dog I've ever known. Her beautiful brown eyes make you just want to melt. She's sweet and smart, and will steal your heart if you ever met her. Haley was my dog before I gave her to my son Mike. He took such good care of her, followed him around, and I knew she was meant for him. He still takes such good care of her. You can tell because she looks very much like she did when she was 1 year. When I first got her her fur smelled like popcorn and I just loved it when she snuggled up because I felt like I was at the movies. I haven't seen her in awhile but every time she sees me she knows who I am. I love Haley and Mike too! Mom  0;
