Joey's mom says: Joey came into our lives when my daughter wrote me a list of 100 reasons why she wanted a puppy in our home. We went looking, and once Joey came into the room my daughter instantly knew this was the dog for our family. Joey was calm, laid back, yet had the most perky bunny-hop walk and was eager to play. As he came home he started to grow and grow, way past the standard eight-to-ten-pound Maltese. Joey now is a whopping 16 pounds and still has that beautiful puppy face and still does his hop run that all puppies do. The doctors said he was not overweight but we had a very special rare larger Maltese. Joey loves to chew and destroy plastic and rope toys and run around the house in circles every night at 9:00 before snuggling into his bed. He can be so hyper but the second you hold him he crawls right in your arms and lets you hug, squeeze, or play with him. Joey is a very smart dog and has even learned a few words of Yiddish that he responds to, for example, lay keppie ("lay your head"). He has made everyone in our home very happy, and on Friday nights Joey's favorite thing to do is go to Yappy Hour at a bar in Baltimore, where he socializes with all the female dogs that love him just as much as we do.
