My daughter's dog could be this girl's twin. He was adopted from a rescue group when he was 2 months. He is very well behaved but we use a sporn halter when we walk him, he can't pull but feels absolutely no discomfort. Wouldn't even consider using a collar that pulls on his neck or causes pain to train him.

What a beautiful, happy dog!!!! You've obviously done a wonderful job raising her, and she looks delightful.

Lolasmom, I understand you're upset - the other members are just telling you what they think is best out of their concern for dogs. In the end, you have to do what you think is best - you clearly adore your dog and she clearly does have a wonderful life. Please don't take it as negative - just take it as "suggestions" made out of concern and keep loving her. Lola is beautiful and it made my day to see her rolling around in the sand!!!

i have never known such a loved dog - lola's parents cherish her - every dog is different and it makes me sad that people have chosen to make their comments about their own personal experiences instead of respecting this mom's relationship with her dog

Lola is a beautiful lady-- I love the pic of her with her nose in the sand- in the typical dog play position!! And what a sweet adorable face in the last pic--
I know several people who use that collar who use that collar- several older people I know do to keep their big dog from pulling the down while walking-- but the truly adore and spoil their dogs-- I think it is up to the individual-- I personally use a harness to control the pulling.

It is plain that Lola's family adore her and she seems very happy and content-- She is sooo sweet and precious looking in the last pic. and she looks like she has a great time with outings with her family.

Lola looks lovely and happy!

and let's take the discussion of collars and other training aids to the forums... i'll start a thread in the 'training' section.

What a pretty girl- all the beauty of a Collie without the high-maintenance coat! I have a Border Collie that is a devil when I put the harness on her for a walk, and an angel when I put the spike collar on her (which, by the way is NOT sharp!). She feels the pressure and knows not to pull. It is a good training aid! By the way Lola is smiling, I don't think she's suffering one bit- you can tell she loves her family!

I think adopted dogs are the best. They can really express the fact that they no love life just as Lola does in your pics. I have a dog that weighs the same as I do and in a halter she still pulls me off my feet. When we go out we use the same collar as you do and a soft collar when at home and she is a good as gold. It is obvious that Lola loves life with you. Keep up the great work.
