Rex's mom says: I went to the Humane Society in May of 1999 looking for a little puppy that would grow up into a little dog. Instead I found an eight-month-old beast named Rex. He was already 60 pounds -â€“ bigger than any dog Iâ€™d had in my life. But he stole my heartâ€¦ and ate the furniture. But one look at that face and knowing some of what he had been through made it all worth it. He has matured into one of the most loving, gentle guys around. He loves riding in the car to look at cows and get ice cream! And my friends say he is the softest dog in the world. He is truly my baby.

Wow - Rex is sure one lucky pup to have you! I'm glad you picked him. It's so much harder for larger dogs to get adopted than smaller ones. What a sweetie he is...and you too!

What a lovely fellow! As always, props to his parents for adopting - and especially for being open to a bit of an older pup. I love big beasties who look like they should be scary... but always turn out to be snuggle-bugs. Hooray for lovely mutts!

Just seeing this gorgeous guy tugs my heart. He's so like our Dylan who we lost last summer after 12 great years. Like your buddy, he was a shelter find and we fully intend to find another soon. I wish we could puppy sit for you!!

rex is awesome. when you open your mind, your heart, and your life to something new, the rewards can be terrific. my roommate was just terrified of big dogs until we rescued a huge hound that was running the neighborhood. after the first wet slurp, she began to call the dog "my baby". now she wants a neuf. have much fun with rex, he does look so gentle.

Rex is beautiful! Do you have any pics of when he was younger? I am picking up my 8week old german shepherd/rottweiller on Monday and would like to see if there are any similarities. The owners of my Sandi say she is shepherd rotty mix but I'm not too sure.
