What a sweet boy! You have my heartfelt sympathies, knowing you'll have to say goodbye to your precious friend soon!!
Apr 2, 2008 kittypup
Never easy to say goodbye - just be glad for the happy memories and they must be many after such a wonderfully long time together. Look at the photos as much as possible!

he looks like an angel. i, too, have a lab beagle who just turned six and could be the spitting image of thumper as a pup. remember they stay with you long after they leave. i was convinced my childhood dog's ghost was haunting my parents' house and teaching oliver all of his old tricks on how to manipulate the family and get more treats.

my heart is with you.

What a sweet good ol' boy!!! Just love the name! :) God bless you and your family as his time nears, he will always be with you!

Thumper looks like a fabulous dog that has been your best friend for so very long. WW3 could be announced, or Mt Vesuvius erupting in my back garden (which would clearly be annoying) but for me there is nothing to describe loosing a dog or hearing about somebody loosing a dog, it just kicks me in the guts and turns on the water works like nobodies business...Until I realize that the amazing force that brought the Dog to us in the 1st place will keep him safely until we meet again. I Have to give a major presentation to deliver now and I look like Alice Cooper! big kiss to thumper, you will see him soon enough. x

What a beautiful dog! I am glad you had many happy and healthy years with Thumper. I LOVE LABS! I know that Thumper will wait for you when your time comes and will be happy and healthy once again when he passes over. Love and kisses to Thumper and may God bless you all.

How very beautiful. Of course the story made me very sad, but I am sure that Thumper has lead a wonderful life! The photos are lovely.

Thumper doesn't know he's old! He looks like a VERY happy dog.

Thumper is adorable! Don't threat that any moment may be your last with him - indeed, it might end soon but that is true for anyone, we never know what will happen, thats why its important to love him like you always have. It looks like Thumper is very very happy in his old age - so you should be too, for giving him such a wonderful home. Lots of love and treats to thumper! xxxxxx

Thumper looks so happy in the photos and content because he is loved. Each day will be so precious now - treasure them and when the parting comes know that you gave Thumper the best life he could have. For now just live each day and enjoy each one.
Lots of tickles to Thumper and my Very Best Wishes to you all.

Hi there everybody I am sad to anounce that Thumper is now eternally chasing the mail man as of this sunday. I am his older brother , I am 32 years old and was the one who went to get Thumper when he was just under a year old. He still had his stitches from loosing his bingos. the whole family came home on sunday to say there final farewell to the best dog we ever had. It was apparent that he had a stroke sometime friday night. he lived a great life right till the end and never suffered (exept when his doggy nephew and nieces would come over ; Molson, Mika and Kimo) but I know that he really like them. Last thurday he was still full of energey as my mom took him around the block for a walk and i saw his tail wagging like a rocket. He is missed something fierce but had a great life, the best life, a life like no other...Thumper dont rest in peace keep running cause now you can my boy LOVE JACO

Thumper looks so content. May God bless your time together and be with you all as the end approaches. It is so difficult for us to lose our dear furry loved ones, such a part of the family. My heart is breaking for you just thinking of it. You will have lots and lots and lots of great memories and I hope it helps ease the pain to know he will be going to a great place. God bless.

i just read Jaco's entry after I sent mine. I am soooo sorry for your loss. I loved your story and of course i am bawling at my desk right now. Sounds like you all loved him very much. HOpe the pains eases soon. God Bless.

I am both happy and sad - happy that Thumper had such a great life with you and that he was so loved - he looks like he was quite the gentleman - and sad because his sweet face is no longer looking back at you. I do understand. God bless you all and he did live a long time - but I know it's never long enough.

It is very obvious that Thumper was a much loved dog. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, but in your heart you will always have loving memories of your wonderful, handsome baby. May those loving memories sustain you and the love and care you gave him give you peace. Hugs to all of you from Kansas.

Thumper was such a handsome boy, and it is obvious that he was a happy, fun-loving dog who will be missed by all who knew him. I am so sorry for your loss.
Apr 2, 2008 megusmaximus
What a lovely dog Thumper was - you can just tell from his sweet face. It sounds you and your family gave him a wonderful long life. My beagle/lab mix from childhood (Pumpkin) is in doggy heaven, and I'm sure she's thrilled to have Thumper join her for the long, rambling walks and sniffing that beagle/labs love so much. Wishing you the best and healing during this sad time.

The joy and love Thumper gave and got from his family will live forever and you can be well assured of a happy guardian waiting for you all on the other side. Congratulations on providing a doggy life well lived!!

What a lovely tribute to a dog so loved, to have him featured on this site. Like Jaco said - don't rest in peace Thumper, run like crazy because now you can again. What a beautiful dog. My heart aches for Thumper's family. Hugs to you.

Thumper - Regal and beautiful with trusting soulful eyes.
Wow! I was wondering what it would be like to have a trusted friend like Thumper at my side for so many years; you were 14 and now you're 30. You and Thumper have grown up together, how wonderful is that?
Continue to love him as he makes his transition, celebrate him and know that he will live in your heart forever.
You two have been blessed to have each other.

To my Dearest Thumper,

I miss you so much, but I know you are in a better place now, running after anything that interest you. I also know you are looking down on us. Last night, while there was a Thunder storm, I thought about you and how afraid you were of them. I think you were looking over your cousin Molson, b/c he did not seem afraid. Thank you. Now, can you look over him so he doesn't eat his poop!!!
Ou family had a long life with you and I hope you know how much we were blessed by you.
You wanna go for a...???? Oh you know exactly what I am talking about! You don't even need a leash now!
Run my boy Run!
Love you with all my heart and more.
Your sister,
Caro XOXOXOXO

Thumper was a beautiful boy. It's so fantastic to hear that a dog has had a long and wonderful life. I lost my German Shepherd Beca two years ago and I still cry for her. Like your Thumper we gave her the best life even though it was only 10 years. Beca was afraid of thunder also and every time we have a thunderstorm I am glad that she is not afraid anymore. Have fun, Thumper, in doggie heaven. I bet you are having a blast. To Thumper's family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. It is so hard to lose a loved one. Take comfort in the fact that you gave him such a good life and that he was loved and knew it. God Bless!
This is my favorite picture. My Beca loved the snow!

I am so sorry for your loss. Reading about Thumper brought tears to my eyes as I remembered my dear Shadow. Having a wonderful loving dog in your life is the most wonderful feeling....... My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I am so heartbroken and sorry to hear about your precious Thumper. Take comfort in knowing he is running in Heaven's lush spring meadows, digging holes, barking at birds, swimming in cool water. You had a wonderful life together and will meet again.

Wonderful boy!

That is a great dog right there. R.I.P. Thumper!

Im very sorry for your loss. i have to dogs and i can't imagine my life without them. Just know in your heart that Thumper is in Heaven having fun with new friends and that one day you will see him again.
God bless you.

I have whispered a prayer for your family and for Thumper. May you all find peace and reassurance that Thumper is loved beyond words and safe in his Creator's arms. Anyone who doubts that must remember God created animals BEFORE He made us! He must have thought they were pretty important. And remember the ark story?

Thumper was so very handsome with such a CUTE face. He had an awful lot of love in those eyes. Bless his little heart.... I can't even imagine how he must enjoy his walks now!

God bless you all dears with your loss.

Thumper is a beautiful dog. He has such a sincere and warm face. I love his soft white fur! It will be hard to say good-bye, but you should be happy with the wonderful life you have provided for him. Thumper looks like the happiest, healthiest dog!

Oh, man. I didn't put water proof mascara on today. Oh well. It's been almost 6 years since I lost my four footed best friend and I still feel the heartache. My thoughts and prayers are with you for I know and understand how hard it is to say "goodbye." May Thumper have an endless supply of Heavenly Milkbones and couches made of the finest cloth awaiting him as he enters eternal life.

You have been blessed with a wonderful soul who will now great you on the other side. May you find peace in knowing Thumper lived a full life with a great loving family. Souls such as his will never cease to fill our hearts and minds with great joy. May your family grieve this tremendous loss and remember that you have been touched by an angel.
(It's taken me all day to compose this note. I read Thumpers post pre and post "rainbow" note from brother. I have cried all day for yor family)

A note from Thumper's Sister:

I have really appreciated reading all of your kind notes, Thumper was and always will be an amazing dog and friend. I don't think we ever knew we could love a dog like we love Thumper.

I am so happy he has been "viewed" here by many, now everyone knows the kind of dog he was.

Thank you,
Caro

I just had to write to say this story has touched me so much! I cried again today looking at Thumper's page. I know Thumper is happy and at peace and you should know that he would want the same for his loving family. All the best...:-)

I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my best friend Tabitha, a Westie, in January at the age of 14. I found this quote comforting, I hope you will find comfort in it as well. It is part of a poem by Emily Margaret Stuparyk.
"You were everything to me
You gave me so much joy
And now, the angels are the lucky ones
As they watch you romp on heaven's greens."

My thoughts are with your family.
Apr 3, 2008 mqm501
Just revisted Thumper's page and saddened to read that he has passed on. You have my sympathies. It is hard to lose a best friend and you'll miss him and you will get misty eyed - which is how it should be - but you will smile and remember the good times like in this photo. Look at the joy in his face - you , his family did that. Thumper couldn't have had a better life. You did well.
Very Best Wishes from Spain.

I'm so sorry to hear that Thumper has passed away. He looked like a great dog! Although Thumper lived a good long life, our furry babies are taken away from us much too soon. Gotta go.... my eyes are tearing up again.

Oh gosh, I am so sorry to hear that Thumper has passed!! Such an elegant looking boy - sounds like he had a long and happy life!

I am so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful, beautiful dog. Thank you for sharing his pictures here. I'm so glad you were able to share his life. His memory really will always be with you. My first dog died almost 2 years ago, and reading this entry still made me cry with the memory of how terrible such a loss feels. I hope Thumper is happy and running in snowy fields right now.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your wonderful dog Thumper with all of us. It is quite obvious that you loved your dog so very much. I'm so sad for you and your family.
I love all of Thumper's pictures. I picked the sleeping one, because it reminds me of my 12 yr. old Suzie (blk & tan coonhound mix), who likes to sleep with pillows and blankets. When I read Thumper's bio today, I was so sad to hear that his end was near...but of course reading further and finding out he had passed made me so sad. I hope I get to have more time with Suzie...but when her time comes, then i hope she gets to run and play with your beautiful Thumper. I'm sure she would love him!

This post is so sad. Thank you for sharing Thumper with us. I'm glad you were able to give him such a happy, romping life!

He is already dreaming of being with God and running with his friends in heaven. He will be waiting for you at the gates tail wagging and ears perked. Hugs and love to Thumper on his journey.

What a happy dog! I'm glad you had so much time together. All the pictures are wonderful and he looks like the most-loved dog in the world!

What a beautiful boy. It makes me sad for I miss my own dog. At least he lived a long wonderful life. Now he's enjoying a peaceful fun time running freely as all the wonderful dogs do when they leave us. I fear when dogs get older, time goes by so quickly and we just never know. May you have tons of fun Thumper...I hope you get to meet my Buff. :)

He is such a love! You can definitely see the beagle in his face! I had two beagle babies who were sisters. One was 16 and one was almost 18 when I lost them. I know I will see them again someday and that helped me get through it. Enjoy these times and take lots of pictures :)

I was so touched. I lost my precious Penny 3/7/07 and the heart still hurts. She was 9 and my best friend. My prayers go out to you during this difficult time. The loss of a precious family member is like no other. Thumper was a lucky dog to have such a wonderful family. The length of his life is a testament to how much he was loved and cared for. God Bless Your Family!!

I am so sorry for the loss of your dearly loved Thumper. Those who have experienced this kind of loss, know only too well the heartache. Always remember the joy and the happiness that you gave each other. God Bless you and all the people in this world who provide a secure and loving life of trust, play, joy, and gentleness for dogs and cats.
