Awwwwwwww, YUJI! That story is so bittersweet. I am sad to think of that adorable doggie in a state of neglect, but I am delighted that you wre able to adopt him and give him the love that he so clearly deserves. Such a sweet softie. The picture of him licking his nose make me squeal aloud and curl into the fetal position. Squeeee!

no, than YOU Yuji's new family. On behalf of animals everywhere, thanks to the family and people like the family and the rescuers who have the heart to recognize the goodness in an animal in need and their rights to respect and fair treatment. This site so often renews my faith in humanity with the nice stories.

On a more political level... it's funny how we can rescue the doggie and give it the life it deserves and yet most of our goverments (mine in Canada included) can't figure out a way for us to help people like the ill homeless woman... I wish there were a way to preserve people's rights, while 'enforcing' their right to be well...

Anyway, he's a gorgeous liittle cuddle-bug, if his family reads this, chew on his floppy ear for me... it looks thoroughly under-chewed.

What a sad story with a wonderfully happy ending! Yuji is precious, and I am sure very grateful to you. People always assume crating is the only way, its not true, its not for every dog. Thanks for being there for Yuji and for sharing him with us!

this is the cutest dog on the face of the earth!!!! Luv pic number 4 and 5. I would give this dog/puppy every
single dog bone and pig ear in the universe! (dogs really do like dried pig ears... even though it's MAJORLY GROSS!)

What a beautiful boy! Such a sad story - Yuji and his first "Mom", that is. I certainly hope that her life turned around as wonderfully as did Yuji's. I don't know if Yuji is your first Lhasa, but I can tell you from sixteen wonderful years that there is nothing like the love an devotion of a Lhasa. Their eyes "talk" to you and express more in a single look than most humans manage in a thesis. While they are not generally big on tricks and such (unless it tickles their fancy at the moment), they are huge clowns and entertainers, highly intelligent and intuitive and completely devoted to the people they love. I know that it has been a year since Yuji was featured, and I would love to know how he is doing today (and to see current pictures.) Please give him a big hug from me. God bless you for rescuing. May you have many, many wonderful years together.
(P.S. : I love ALL of the pictures - they manage to capture such a range of Lhasa moods and attitudes :))

yuji is doing great-he has kept a diary on his dogster page that shows how he has slowly trained us into the obedient slaves we now are-you can see his progression at
http://www.dogster.c om/dogs...
the picture of him looking mournful in this series was the day we got him-he does not look mournful now-usually smug for landing such a good deal! thanks for your comments!

Yuji is a very lucky little dog. Thank you so much for saving him, and sharing his story with us. I had two lhasa apso females that looked very much like him. He is a beautiful pup.

my mum owns a lhasa, oliver, cream colour, he is a very special dog, he was the runt of the litter and has a brown nose instead of a black nose.

He loves all kinds of food and drink, he likes my soya milk, loves cheese. He is about 8 years old, he gets along with my mums cat lilly, found as a stray she was, wondering around looking rather skinny.
