You know what? I am quite enjoying the little influx of young people we've had lately. Normally kids drive me buggy, but ours are really adding to the site, and I'm very glad they are here. We just need Snoops to come back, and we will have a very nice representation of the MUCH younger generation! *VBG*

Phyrie, I think we are both enjoying seeing young people who are driven and striving and constantly bettering themselves. :D

I would like to think that the majority of young people are living this way, but "rose tint my world, keep me safe from my trouble and pain". I know they aren't, but I do think the generation coming along is doing better than the one before.

I should also add that I see more young women (go ladies!) trying harder than a lot of young men. Every time I visit Guelph (OVC) with Oliver, all of the students, save one or two, are female.

We have some wonderful young people on this site, and I too miss Snoops!

The young people keep me young. :D

Ashley, in a non offensive way at all, but I thought you were younger than 21 (THOUGHT NOT MUCH YOUNGER I PROMISE)

Emma don't be a wallybear! You are very pretty! Average? Pah!

RJM, don't worry about it! It's easy to confuse things over the internet, especially when I myself am being confusing

Deb, most of the hardworking students at my school are girls. I'm not saying boys are not as smart as girls, but that's just how it happens to be in my school at the moment. We had an assembly today which featured advice from Bill Gates, one part of which was 'be nice to nerds, chances are you'll be working for them one day' and while that is true, in my school most 'nerds' are girls, and since boys like girls.....well.....we don't ever have a bullying problem, let's say.

I like that you guys LIKE the number of young people on here. I all too often get spoken DOWN to, being a young(er) dog owner, by other owners who obviously feel my experience with dogs MUST, naturally, count for less than theirs.

I had kind of a bad experience the other day at a dog show. Woody went with me, and he was an absolute angel all the time, I was so proud of him for how well behaved and chilled he was. But the show had a sort of 'dog park,' enclosed area for dogs to go off lead. And Woody was playing with dogs (at one point he herded one and I called him back straight away, he uses his body to push them when he gets too overexcited and I always call him away when that happens) nicely. I was watching him and chatting to my friend at the same time. Well, this stick-possessive lab came along and growled at Woody's best buddy Milo. At first Woody was fine, but the second time the other lab had a go at Milo, unfortunately Woody put himself in the way of the lab and they went for each other. I shouted at Woody and he straight away let go of the other dog and came back to me, I put him on the lead, the other owner apologised and left. Then this woman behind me, a lot older than I, perked up, and said to me in a VERY condescending tone 'you DO know it was your Australian that started that. He was doing it to other dogs while you weren't paying any attention. Haven't you noticed that everyone else has left' and she sort of raised her eyebrows disapprovingly and left. The reason everyone had left was because it was the end of the day and everyone, including her, was leaving the park! I couldn't say anything back because that day I lost my voice from a bad cold (still sound pretty rough now lol)

Sorry to rant lol, it upset me quite a bit, and I hope I didn't describe it in a way that makes you guys think I was being irresponsible too :( lol. The only time I wasn't looking at Woody was when I briefly looked away to pick up his poo! :/ And while his herding other dogs is undesirable, it never causes a problem because essentially it's just him pushing into other dogs as they run, (but like I said, I recall him when he does that anyway and then he stops doing it.)

Ah well, sometimes stereotypes can't be dodged.

Paws, I'm not surprised you were upset. I would have been too. Some people just can't resist meddling. It's not as if it was any of her business anyway. You know what really happened so don't dwell on it.

You guys are Awesome! What lovely families!

I don't have any photos with Me and the New puppies yet. Most of the photos of the Puppy photos are with the family and I'm the one taking them. So I'll post up a really recent mobile photo of me and then some photos over the years with Chippy.

Name is Shelby, I'm 19 years old and I own a Sports Photography Business & Work for a Publication where I photograph College & High school Games. I have a large tight knit family that are dog people. They normally raise one dog at a time but they have raised two three years apart from each other until they thought she was acceptable for my Grandma and well trained. My Mom wants to start a blog about raising two puppies and the adventure of it. Considering the fact people on other sites are very negative about it. We live on a ranch that used to be a cattle farm until the 80's. Our roots are southern. My family have owned give dogs before the dog that I consider my very first. I was there from day one to the end. The dogs before I only knew for a little bit and don't remember much. I'm a very active person that hopes to give Tucker & Lincoln (Our new puppies) very happy lives.

Another cutie!! Welcome again. You might want to join our Photography thread, many of us are much into Photography it is a lot of fun. We have learned so much from each other and our skills have improved immensely by sharing. You are very welcome to join.

Your mom should start a blog, don't let those other sites discourage, that is something we are not about. We do try to keep the site friendly but hit the trolls hard, the ones that bull their way here and yes we are brutally honest at times.

Chippy is beautiful. That last photo of your brother is very sweet, that tough guy teen melting there...very sweet.

Welcome again!!

It's lovely to see pictures of you and your family! Clearly you are "dog people", so you will all fit right in on here. :D

Tucker and Lincoln are two very lucky pups indeed. You are a beautiful, young lady and I'm trying to figure out who's who exactly from your Intro thread.

Kian is right. Tell your Mum not to listen to the nay sayers!

By the way, one of my four brothers also has a "Sports Photography Business" that takes him all over the world mostly covering Equestrian endeavours, usually "3 day Eventing". (He is also well connected in the Technology industry and provides me with FREE internet, and a private email so I don't receive Spam, although he's pulling the plug on that, with the exception of my email domain.) He's newly married and lives in Kentucky now, although I'm from London, Ontario, Canada. I digress terribly!!! There just seem to be several similarities between our families....kids and dogs and photography.

Hullo Shelby! Your dogs are gorgeous!

Tell your mum to go for it and don't pay attention to those who may be negative. I think all of us have to put up with 'nay sayers' at some point in our lives and you just have to go do whatever the hell you want ;)

I'm happy and excited to have another photographer on the site :D please do join in with the photography thread, there's always something new to see and learn from people
