Thanks Brenda, so from that information I think that the problem is that people are not aware of horrors (gassing ect.) that come from too many unspayed and not neutered dogs. SO I think there are 2 things that must be done to help substantially cut the amount of strays wandering around the streets:
1.) raise awareness
2.) cut the costs
I can't cut the cost yet I'm not a vet.... but I can definately raise awareness. I already know how! We are gong to a walkathon in the park and part of the proceeds humane society on Nov 12 so I can post flyers on the trees, there will probably be a bunch of dog owners there so it might work, and I can also post some up in the dog park, ( there is a big flyer board there), and in our community library.
I don't know how effective this will be but its worth a try!
Now I just need to make the flyers, I think I have a ok-ish slogan: Spay or your pets will pay... it sounds kinda weird. Any suggestions?
And i think will put a rather sad/maddening article under the slogan.
Its a simple format but should do.

There are two spay/neuter clinics in Ontario. Both are booking appointments into the New Year...just to give you an idea of how affordability plays a huge part in whether people get their animals speutered. There is hope to open up more eventually...but start up costs are huge.

Rufus was rescued at literally the last minute!!!

Not sure what rescue took him, but thank goodness!

Duke and Lucy are also no longer as urgent, as they are in private foster homes associated with the shelter.

I wished we had more places like that here.I get so flustered with some people like my sister in law , she has a full breed collie , she hasn't gotten her fixed because she'd like her to have alitter of full collies ,guess what happened the tied her out and left ,now they have 9 half collie half shepard pups.It being affordable would help but people should be responsible also some are some aren't . Guess thats life.
