Thanks for all the kind comments! Kian, I'm blushing, kind of like this

but with a smile on my face. I like that photo because Bella looks adorable and I look... blurry.
It
is wonderful that Jasper has accepted Bella with such warmth. I said he wouldn't have voted to get a puppy, but he did have a veto. We decided that if it looked like he was too old to tolerate a puppy, we just wouldn't get one. We visited a few shelters, consulted with our vet and various shelter professionals and took Jasper to meet several dogs and puppies before we met Bella. We chose her because Jasper did. All we wanted was for him to be able to tolerate her, but they follow each other around, chase each other around and wrestle noisily but playfully every day. It's turning out to be an actual friendship.
Tracy, I think much of the busyness has come from a determination to teach Bella to walk on a loose leash from the very beginning, which meant I couldn't walk her with Jasper. She's doing very well and getting lots of compliments on her leash manners when she's alone, but she still gets very distracted by Jasper's presence so I take them separately, which means a lot of walking! Between the walking and the training sessions, I'm about as tired as I was when my twins were little but it's so worth it to have a lovely puppy like Bella.
Thank you all for welcoming Bella to the DP. I'll see you between walks!
