Linda, you will get the hang of the ear cleaning in no time. I used to have to do Emma's weekly and at first, it was a huge production for me. After a while, I was able to take care of them in under 10 minutes and she actually enjoyed it. The odd treat at first doesn't hurt.
Thanks for the encouragement Deb! Sadie will do anything for a treat . She didn't mind me messing with her ears before so hopefully she won't when I have to clean them on a regular basis either.
On our evening walk last night I was able to get a good (not the best!) but a good shot of Sadie with her fur standing up. It was straight up while she barked at the wild thing that was coming after us, but I couldn't get my phone out of my pocket fast enough. No I wasn't calling 911 , I wanted the camera!!
Sadie my protector
And this is what she was protecting me from
I wish I had gotten my phone out quicker and switched to camera, her fur was standing up from her ears to the middle of her back. She was in full defense mode, and I was laughing so hard at her!
LOL, I heard about the scary wheelbarrow tarp thing, good thing she was on guard. Sweet Sadie! Glad her ears are doing better, it is hard to see our pups suffering from these allergies. It's bad enough for us, but our dogs!
Sadie and I walked to one of the parks fairly close to home yesterday. It was good to see her out of her normal walking area's, new stimulation for her. She takes it ALL in!! There was a group of people in one of the shelter houses having a cookout and I didn't even pay attention until one of them yelled out "hey, what kind of dog is that?" When I told him they all started buzzing at once, and he yelled back "beautiful!" Then came out of the shelter and asked if he could pet her. At least he asked first!
A few pics from our walk.
Sorry this one is a little blurry, but I had to include it. She always looks back to make sure I'm still there. I don't know where else she thinks I would be. I'm always at the other end of that leash
Ducks in the water.....I said Sadie takes it all in. Well......
She missed these!! She just went on sniffing the ground
Linda, I absolutely love the picture of Sadie looking back at you! I don't mind that it's a bit blurry, as her love for you is still so obvious. I think her ears just add to her already lovely expression.
Aw Sadie is a sweet girl! Are you still there? Precious! What a nice park! I had a chuckle at her not noticing the ducks and being more interested in the grass. We had a similar experience where someone must have dropped a cheese, cracker, and sausage tray in the road--doggie dream buffet!! Well, Sniffers had his head in the grass as usual and was none the wiser, phew!!
