Thanks everyone :D

RJM, she would love to give you big hugs and kisses too. She is a VERY friendly girl!!

We took her to the dog park late this afternoon and while I played with her, my OH got some really good photos with his super duper lens  He let me copy them from his card so I can post some of them. She actually ran today and halfway played with the dogs that were there. She's still a little shy, but not nearly as much as she was the other two times we were there. There were some really cute, large and small dogs there today. I'll try to post some tomorrow.

Dog Park!!! Sadie is starting to really enjoy herself here

She was one worn out girl yesterday after playing here for an hour!

These photos were all taken by my OH, he was kind enough to be our photographer for the day

This was when we first got here and I had to go get a poop bag right away!! This is how she is, she stays very close.
But on full alert!!
(And YES, I am in my junkiest dog park clothes!!)

Image

Some of the dogs that were there yesterday. Of course I had to pet every one of them!

Image

This little guy is Rusty. But he's silver 8) . Sadie really liked him.

Image

Now for the ACTION shots!!!!

We played ball.....

She's looking back.....

Image

Image

These are not all from the one thrown ball

Image

Image

He took my picture when I didn't know it. He's good at that. I was in my element, I love doing this can you tell!!

Image

Believe it or not just before we left as if she hadn't run enough - she got the ZOOMIES!!!!!

Image

Image

These last three I took on my phone camera, so they aren't as clear, but I thought they turned out well enough to post!

This little girl we met one other time. She is such a sweetheart ♥

Image

King, oh uh, I mean Queen of the hill!!

Image

This dog was so friendly, a bit rambunctious for Sadie at first though. I thought they looked so pretty together.

Image

I'll take my camera next time. She is getting more and more used to it there so its not such a handful with her and a camera!!

Linda, all the shots were great, especially the action shots. My goodness, that girl can run. She must have Greyhound in her. I thought all the dogs together looked cute as they were such a diverse group.

By the way, I think you look more than appropriately dressed for the dog park. I can't imagine wearing anything other than what you wore! If someone dresses up for the dog park, they aren't there to exercise their dog, like wearing make-up to the Gym!

That looks like a great dog park and both you and Sadie look wonderful!

Great photos! Sadie does look so very happy.

And I agree with Deb - you are perfectly dressed for playing with pups at the park!

Its raining again so the park will become a mud pit in the middle again  . I would love to be able to take her at least once a week or even twice. She loves going!

I was thrilled when the dog park opened here. I didn't sign her up for a while, but kept checking it out. The people and dogs there so far have been wonderful. We've made a lot of new friends who love their dogs! The town was supposed to open another one on our side of town, but there was a big debate between another dog park or a new community swimming pool. So neither one got done. Its a huge tract of land with a humongous hill and a little bit of playground equipment. A big waste! I'm hoping they will decide on the dog park eventually.

Linda, first I love the new avatar! Sadie looks so happy and excited!!

Sadie looks like she was having a fabulous time at the dog park!!
You have to "sign" her up? What does that entail? A fee, I assume? Is there any kind of temperment test?

We have a dog park here, but I've never been. It has a reputation of being used by dummies  I've heard of people dropping off their dogs to play while they either sit in the car or leave! Or they are too busy socializing with other people and don't watch their dog. I've heard too many negatives to check it out. A registration would be a great idea to weed out the dummies, but I'm guessing then there would be a problem monitoring it.

Our dog park is owned by the city, but its the people who use it who actually monitor it.

There is a $30.00 fee (for each dog) for those who live within the city limits and $40.00 for others. You also have to purchase a gate security pass for $10.00 and if you lose it pay another $10.00 to get another one.

I was a little leary too, I had heard so many horror stories about dog parks. I watched for a while and liked what I saw. After talking to the "regulars" that I have met there I know now why it is so good. They keep the riff-raff who don't really care about their dogs or other peoples dogs OUT
(The city can de-activate their pass key if necessary!)

One other thing, the city found a dead hollowed out tree at the edge of the dog park property. They sent emails to all of the members saying they were closing it for one day to take the tree down. They have roped off that section for now while they do the cleanup. It was a big tree and the hollow part is big enough the little dogs can run through it like the training tunnels. (I think Sadie could almost run through it too!) I appreciated knowing the city was keeping that good of an eye on it!

Linda, I think having a fee to use the park, as well as a pass that can be de-activated, is a terrific idea. Whenever people have to pay a little bit of money, it tends to weed out those who aren't serious and don't care.

I also think it's a good idea as why should people without dogs pay for a park that they will never use. The fee allows the city to budget for the park and its necessary maintenance.

I'm sure the "Regulars" do a great job of monitoring the park as it is in everyone's best interest.

Wow, that is awesome!

Our park is also owned by the city, but they have a volunteer committee that runs it. They are always holding fund raisers to maintain it. I'm not sure how it works, but generally it seems it is the less responsible/knowledgable owners in charge.
IMO :? I know a lot of dog people through the humane society and various rescues and training, but no one personally involved with the park.

I didn't know anyone involved with the park before I went either. If it had turned out they didn't really care or just ignored their dogs I would have never gone back, just chalked up the loss of $40.00. I'm very happy it turned out well. I just hope it continues as more people to there with the warmer weather.

You know they are true dog lovers when they are there in freezing icy snowy weather just to let their dogs have some fun
