Guinness From Syracuse, NY

Postby kmaurer113 on Thu Nov 11, 2010 2:32 pm

Guinness is my 10 week old puppy that was given to me as a gift for Christmas. I've always wanted a Saint and even though I've only had him a short time I am very much in love with him. He is a very quick learner and a very loyal boy. He follows me EVERYWHERE!! He gets to stay home with daddy during the day but when I come home he doesn't leave my side. He's almost completely potty trained and he's already learned how to sit. He's a very mellow boy with the sweetest temperment I've ever known a dog to have. I'm a dog person and I've known lots of them but his temperment is by far the best I've come across.
His personality comes alive when we're outside because he is very much an outside pup. I think he would stay out there all day if I were out there with him all day too. But for now we just stick to fun puppy games in the back yard and walks around his Grandma and Grandpa's big back yard and woods. He also loooooves to sleep. As a growing large breed dog I know he needs it. His favorite place to sleep is right next to me always having to be touching me somehow. At night he snuggles up with his puppy blanket in his kennel. He's very close to sleeping through the night - usually from 11:30-5:30 but I tend to get up and let him out once or twice just to see his sweet face. I am a very happy and proud mommy and I love him very much. Starting in January I will be taking Guinness to the training course to be an AKC Canine Good Citizen (Starting with the AKC Smart Puppy recognition!) and then moving on to become certified as an Animal to Assist with Activities including visiting hospitals, nursing homes, and libraries.

Guinness is Gorgeous! What a lovely boy. I thought it was so sweet that you still get up in the night, even though you may not have to, just to see his sweet face. Guinness is going to have a good life, that's for sure.

We had a St. Bernard when I was growing up. Hank was a the sweetest, most affectionate fellow. He loved playing in the snow with us as children.

Welcome to the Daily Puppy from Oliver & Henry, and their Mum, in London, Ontario.

Guinness is such a beautiful boy and it's obvious how much you adore him. I felt the same way about my Sookie, it was love at first sight :) It sounds like you are doing a truly amazing job with raising him so far, and I wish you both all the best with getting him certified. With his sweet temperament it should be no trouble at all.

Congratulations on your new puppy from Shari & Sookie

Guiness is beautiful! With his temperment, it sounds like he's going to make a great therapy dog.

Guiness is just beautiful! You have som really great pictures of him! He looks to be a great companion and will be for a long time!
you are brave going to see him at night, even if he doesnt whine, precious! If I did that, there would be no getting my baby back in her bed without crying after. Guiness is a really good pup if he lets you do that!

Merry early Christmas! :)
