I didn't really name Dixie. The day I went to pick up Dixie from the family that had the litter, the youngest girl handed her over to me, crying becuase she named all the puppies but could only keep one. She named my puppy Dixie and told me she loved to have her belly rubbed and asked me to keep the name so I did. Her name may be very common, but her nic names sure are not lol!

Kristen&Bailey wrote:I know quite a few dogs who are named Oliver and are called Olly/Olli. Our dogs name is Bailey, which is one of the most common dog names but it suits him, and we are happy with it. He is named Bailey after Bailey's Irish Cream, since his coat is a cream color. He is Bailey the Irish cream puppy :)

Some people prefer the common names and some people prefer more unique names. It's all a matter of preference and not one is better than the other. The way I figure, as long as its a name that you are comfortable yelling out in public then its all good ;)

Olly is a very cute puppy. Welcome to the daily puppy.

Kristen --- I had to point out, that's exactly why we named our Bailey "Bailey"! He's also Bailey the Irish Cream puppy :) What a coincidence!!

Amy how sweet and so nice of you to keep that promise to the little girl. I had a Dixie to, she was named by the girl who had her and I just liked the name, it suited her.

I never Bailey was the Irish Cream Puppy, too cute.

I use to keep in touch with the family. My friend also got Dixie's sister so we would send emails and pics of them. But we stopped keeping in touch which is sad, they were a nice family. In Dixie's litter there were 11 pups, I have seen 2 others besides mine and my friends. I liked meeting her siblings, they all have Rotti markings but different body shapes. The family kept the runt and another pup that didn't find a home. Oh and the little girl named my friends pup Megan which was not kept, didn't suit the dog.

Sophia because it is a pretty name for a pretty pup. And it means wisdom and I've heard these dogs are supposed to be smart!

Awww, that is so sweet, poor little girl. At least she ended up having 2dogs.
I must admit I love naming thing: toys, (future dogs....) .... I'm weird...
I don't really prefer Different or Classic over each other.
For my future dog names list I have so many weird names and so many more... normal ones. But I like both.
Obviously the dogs that I have aren't classic names..... Pants and Saffy.... not classic at all.
But they fitted perfectly. I didn't name either of them.... now I just can't picture them with any other name.
