Actually her mommy weaned her off fairly early, and she transitioned from pablum to dog food "mush" amazingly quickly according to the woman we got her from. The litter was actually an 'oopsies', so she wasn't a professional breeder but it wasn't her first litter and she definitely knew her stuff!
Her food/water intake has been fantastic so far, she practically cleans her bowl every time (a few little bits left, nothing major) and her attitude towards her kibble has been more along the lines of "GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE!!!" than anything else.
When we first got her at 5.5 weeks and the breeder told us the best thing to do for her food was to let it soak in some hot water for about 20 minutes so it would be a nice mush, which we did. Zero problems! Just yesterday I tried giving her dry kibble only, and she munched it right down without any problems at all. Seems to be drinking like a camel though, but I imagine the only problem with lots of water intake would be daddy having to run her outside more often.

I'm always open for advice and tips, heck that's why I joined the forum! She seems to be getting along VERY well so far, and manages to sleep through the night without any problems. I only had to get up once at 3am to let her out for a potty break, which was my own fault for letting her have a big drink of water before bedtime. The only thing I'm really concerned about that she would have learned from her littermates/mommy would be the whole bite inhibition thing. She does love chasing after our one kitten and chomping on his belly, but I don't think he has enough power in his paws to let her know that "HEY! that's too hard!!" so I've had to keep an eye out to intervene. I think I'm doing a fairly good job at training her that biting people is a no no and it ends playtime, but being only 6 weeks old I imagine that's not a lesson she'd pick up on right away to begin with.
I do intend to start doing clicker training with her as soon as it's viable, and already have a thread started in the behaviour section in regards to that. Just need someone to post there to clear off a bit of the fog.
