Yes Madi,There are breeds that I admire but have not owned. One becomes aquainted with lots of breeds if you spend as much time at dogshows as I have..As a child I had a rat terrier and later a mixed breed [poodle type] these did not end well as my parents were not dog people..When I was first married we had a Collie mix..My wife was a neat freak and not a dog person...When she was gone I got into hunting with Hounds and aqdopted some older experienced dogs from the shelter.
I Was dogless for a few years then I,bought a puppy,Malamute/Siberian mix,for my main sqeeze du jpur.
.Next rescued a pure bred OES from the shelter and got a new OH, later added a registerd Siberian who dessperately needed OB training. From there it was dowmhill all the way..My XOH trained him and began competeing in AHC/CKC trials...Began breeding and showing Siberians...I was midwifeshow and OB handeler and kennel manager. We had added 2 Golden Retrievers for OB competiton.
When she left for greener pastures I married a mutual friend who came complete with a GSD two Keeshonden and one SS. We had to select a day for the marriage when there were no dogshows nearby so our friends could come...She was`an OB instructor and showed Keeshonden in breed and OB while I focused on Siberians..She would often help me show the Sibes but I was not allowed to show the Kees (I WAS however allowed to deliver the Kees puppies). We have been married 28 years now and are retired from breeding/showing and only have 3 elderly Siberians left, two 14 one 13...Nowthen does that answer your question ?
Many puppies....Richard
