I know right! It's so scarey that he REALLY looks like a lion cub!
I've always wanted a lion & tiger as a pet... so I guess Pingu is as close as I can get to having a lion and Saffy is as close as I can get to a tiger.......

But I found this on the internet of a golden retriever..... :o

Haha that would be the best dog halloween costume ever! I love it!

I wonder if they actually colored the dogs fur or if its all just photoshopped.

No, it's real, it's from China and they have a doggie salon that does it. They made these chow chow puppies look like pandas.

That was my very first thought when I saw the photo as well, and that would be a great Hallowe'en Costume!

Louise, I just love Saffy and Pingu! Even though Pingu does resemble a lion cub at the end of that video, I think the name Pingu suits him best. It sounds like he looks, if that makes sense. Simba sounds too gentle, and common for sweet little Pingu.

The way that Saffy stands over him is so sweet. She protects him and attempts to push him around, which he seems to allow for a moment or two and then it's his way or the highway. What a lovely garden you have for the two of them to play. Those two are already best friends and will be for life.

I was trying to think how a Canadian would say Saffy compared to how you say it, and the best description I can think of is more emphasis of the first part of the name, in a flat tone, whereas you put the emphasis on the second syllable. Both of their names sound better coming from you than they would from me, and I think they both have lovely names.

Yeah, I look at him and don't see anything but Pingu.... although on the other hand I see SOOOO MANY names in him if he was a girl, hehe. We would've named him if he was a 'she' either Kimba, or Kimmy. I wanted to name Kimmy if he was a girl because I have a little friend of mine who is a very young girl, she's like a little sister to me and her name is Kimberley but I call her Kimmy. Anyways her mum has been battling lung cancer for about 4 years now and this year is going down hill fast, not looking good. We were thinking it might cheer her up plus it's an adorable name.... so yeah, sad story and her mum has never smoked... Also every time I look at Pingu's big black eyes I see Kimmy because his eyes are exactly the same as hers, big black eyes! Very cute.
Oh I don't like talking about sad situations... it's such a sad fact of life.

Well, yesterday Saffy was THE MOST DEPRESSED PUPPY EVER! Pingu was being baby-sat by Bill, like the usual since I'm at school and my mum and brother are at work. Well, in the afternoon my mum goes to pick up Pingu on the way home and he'd be home with Saffy. Well Bill wanted to have Pingu sleep-over, we though yeah okay....
Well, the WHOLE afternoon, and night, and the next morning Saffy was SOOOO depressed! She didn't eat, which scared me, she moped around with her head hung low and just looked at me and either sighed or cried. It was just so sad it broke my heart! She was just so sad and so adorable! Nothing would cheer her up all she did was mope around sleep and cry...
Well, the next day.... (12th April 2011) we decided to make Saffy happy and bring her to Bill's place, Saffy's half Bill's since he bought me Saffy, (he used to breed Staffordshire's, Poodles and Maltese years back). Anyways he was delighted to have her over for the day... Well Saffy was the happiest dog ever to be reunited with Pingu.

On the other hand I asked Bill if Pingu was moping around for Saffy, nope, didn't give apple's pie about Saffy.
I guess Saffy is a drama queen, like the usual.
Once I got off the bus I went straight to Bill's place, not mine because I was so excited to see how Saffy & Pingu were doing, I got to the door and was greeted by the most happiest pup ever! Saffy was jumping up and down like crazy, I guessed she had a fantastic day! With only 1 accident in Bill's house from Pingu, which was good.
Anyways I have 3 pictures of Saffy & Pingu from 10pm last night(1hour ago), they are so cute and tired from their busy, energetic day of wrestling and playing they were (and still are) BUGGERED! :P

Very cute! Saffy is a great protector of the little devil, isn't she? I love the bit at 2:48 where they interrupt their game to stand stock-still because they see something in the other yard. You can almost see the thought bubble over their heads, "Squirrel? No? Carry on!"

Thanks for sharing. And I, too, love the accent!

What sweet photos Louise! Its so wonderful that the two of them have bonded so much. You can really see it in the videos and the pictures.

I really laughed in the video when Saffy came back to Pingu from behind and tried to snatch the stick away! That was too funny!

Awww...the video is so cute, but I just love the photos of them sleeping together. It is wonderful to see how much they have bonded so quickly.

That second pictures is just so cute. You can really see the difference in size! Plus it looks like Pingu is leaping over Saffy. :)

Thanks everyone!

Phyrie- We don't have squirrels in Australia..... it's a shame because they are ADORABLE! :P

Nothing much lately... today's been boring since it's raining all day... :( I don't like toilet training the pups when it's raining because they never pee, but today was an exception, no accidents. YAY! First 'no accident rainy day!'
Oh it is so cold too, and May is coming up.... the time when I'm ALWAYS SICK, I shouldn't be complaining because you guys in USA and Canada have SNOW!!! I'd die in that weather.... I like hot weather even if it's like being in an oven. :D
This Thursday is when Pingu starts his Puppy Pre-school, YAY! I love puppy pre-school! Can't wait!

Latest Video- (Filmed a couple of days ago when the weather was FANTASTIC!!!! GRRRRRRRRRR!)

There was a clip a few years back where many dogs in China where painted and of course a Chow was a Lion. It was amazing and looked very good.

Kimmy....good name that would have been.

Never heard that saying put that way before, much better than ours! (Which I shall not repeat here. )

Excited to see your videos, just popped in for Moderator stuff this morning. Isn't your Fall weather there now?

Adorable video Louise. Those two are as thick as thieves!

Your blue skies and Banana Tree look very appealing to me right now. At least the snow we had falling all morning has melted. If we're lucky we'll hit a high of 16C on Wednesday..woohoo!
