Currently I have 3 Shih Tzu's and Bogie. Bogie is an Aussie/Heeler cross - sometimes called a 'Texas Heeler'. He came from a cattle ranch near Waco Texas and both his parents were working cattle dogs. Mom was a Blue Heeler and Dad was a Red-Tri Aussie. The whole litter of 6 were cute as buttons, but when I got there Bogie was the only dark one, and the only one not spoken for. So I didn't have a choice since I REALLY wanted a puppy of this mix.
For the last 2 years we had a 'camping dog' that was a Texas Blue Lacy. Ranger was a wonderful dog in every way and he'd just turned 2 when he suddenly had a stroke or something and just.... died. We really missed having a dog to camp with (my son is a teenager and really likes having a dog along to do stuff with!) so I was half-heartedly looking on CL when I came across Bogie's litter. The pictures the owners had posted convinced me so I drove 2 hours to get him.
Bogie just fit into our family perfectly. Well, I'm sure the CATS would disagree--LOL! He is very intelligent but with a streak of stubbornness that just makes him adorable! He's very good when we camp and LOVES to chase the Frisbee ring! Bogie also 'talks' and every morning I get an 'arrooo-roo-roo' as a greeting!
