Hey guys!!

Thought id say hello for the first time! Been looking on this site for a good few months now and finally joined up!!

9 months ago i become me and my girlfriend become the proud parents to a amazing jack russell cross with patterdale (more patterdale then JR so iv been told!) We named him Biffy and have loved him from the off set!

i must admit we did are researched on breeds and knew full well how much work JR can be...of any breed! but both of us are active and enjoy walks etc after i saw a photo of biffy we knew he was the one!

I found this site via Facebook, and i upload a pic of biffy on there and totally out of the blue we won 'Puppy of the week' that was rather cool

This site has helped me a lot with info, but i do have two questions (Sorry if this is the wrong please to ask )

Question 1 -How long should i be walking my pup? hes 9 months now and iv seen a lot of people saying it must be no more then 30mins? thats what i do but he could walk for miles more

Question 2 - At what age do we start feeding him adult food, right now hes on puppy food...he has dry food and has wet food on a sunday and has a few treats thoughtout the day..is this okay? should we up the amout of wet food?

May I suggest you check out two different sections in our Forums for your questions. The first one being the Behaviour and Training Section. If you do not see an existing thread that pertains to your walking question, then by all means start a new one. I think most members would encourage you to enroll in puppy training classes for a start.

The second thread would be the Health Section where we discuss feeding, and other health related topics. The short answer to your question about puppy food is that it is generally given for the first year of life. Most would advise that you stay away from "wet food" and find a good quality kibble, unless of course, you wish to raw feed or do both.

Keep in mind that my above statements are very, very broad, and even I could debate my own comments, so it really does require a proper discussion to find out about your lifestyle, where you live and what's available to you, etc.
