Our older boy is a 9-year-old Lab named Captain. In many ways, he's your typical Lab, very friendly and sweet, but he's also an accomplished food thief and enjoys naps in chairs that are too small for him. He also makes a habit of napping on the table on the back porch.
He gets upset if I close my door at night because he often patrols the house while we're asleep, and this disrupts his rounds.Maya is the mystery breed, turning 2 in February. We were dog-sitting her for a friend when that friend was diagnosed with health problems and told that she couldn't keep a dog. Somehow, that meant that Maya became ours, but I don't mind at all--she bonded to me quickly and often follows me around the house. She's very affectionate, a cuddler and a licker, and you know she likes you when she starts sitting in your lap. My username is a reference to her excitement when I come home from school or work: she gets so excited that she does this little dance that consists of jumping up and down and wiggling simultaneously.

Captain is actually the first dog I've ever had, and it was his silliness as a puppy that helped me get over a life-long wariness towards dogs. We have some great home videos of him when he was tiny!
