Greetings from Romania

Postby sibarit on Sat Jan 07, 2012 5:08 pm

I have been reading the posts for hours and hours. I found great advice here so I just wanted to thank you all for setting up such a great place to talk and having the patience to answer everyone .
I have been gifted recently with Dexter , an adorable briard who came with me to Bucharest , Romania all the way from Czech republic.
He is a great little dog , very smart , very playful with a mind of his own .The thing that i find the most amazing is that he didn't cry once since I got him. He takes everything in his stride ( car, hotels, elevator, people , children ) and truly is without fear. I can't wait to start potty training with him ( he still has to get all of his shots until he can go outside ) .
I confess to learning about using crates for the dogs only here -I guess is just not something that we use here in Romania .
Dexter is very happy in a small room arranged for him where he sleeps and eats during the day when I am away and at night .
I think I will stick to this since I have the great privilege of having this space just for him .
Thank you all and I hope I didn't make too many mistakes writing in English ( I will work on it I promise)

Welcome to Daily Puppy! I believe you are the first member we have in Romania. We are worldwide and enjoy meeting new members and their pup. Dexter is very cute. Guess you saw the House Training Thread, that will help you.

I'm Kian, the owner of two Australian Shepherds Allie and Ice. Welcome!

Sibarit - How wonderful to hear that you have already enjoyed reading the Forums and the advice they contain. Your English is excellent, and as Kian said, I believe you are our first member from Romania. :D You have a beautiful dog, and I think you are doing alright, even without a crate, as she has her own special room. That works too!

Welcome to the Daily Puppy from Oliver & Henry (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels) and their Mum, Deborah, in London, Ontario, Canada.

Very admirable, your English! Your puppy Dexter is beautiful and from so very far away! I live in South Carolina, a few miles north of the capital, Columbia. My dogs are Daisy, a coonhound and our new baby Buddy, a Beagle! One of the best things in my long life with dogs is meeting the people of The Daily Puppy. They are honest, direct and so informed and capable of giving so much good advice and even more important....they are loving and very sympathetic towards the feelings of dog lovers. Welcome to the DP! Liz, Daisy and Buddy

Hello sibarit, welcome to the DP from Tracy and Deerhounds, Loki and Idun and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Libby in Devon, England. Your English and your spelling are very good.

Dexter looks like an adorable bundle of fluff. It sounds like you two are off to a great start.
