RAINBOW BRIDGE

Postby Rosys_Mom on Thu May 08, 2008 1:00 pm

The Rainbow Bridge Image

There is a bridge connecting Heaven
and Earth. It is called the Rainbow
Bridge because of its many colors.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge
there is a land of meadows, hills and
valleys with lush green grass. When
a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this
place. There is always food and water
and warm spring weather. The old and
frail animals are young again. Those
who are maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing. They
are not with their special person who
loved them on Earth. So each day
they run and play until the day comes
when one suddenly stops playing and
looks up! The nose twitches! The ears
are up! The eyes are staring! And this
one suddenly runs from the group! You
have been seen, and when you and your
special friend meet, you take him or her
in your arms and embrace. Your face is
kissed again and again and again, and
you look once more into the eyes of
your trusting pet. Then you cross the
Rainbow Bridge together, never again
to be separated.

Very beautiful words.
But I had to stop myself from reading this again, as I have run out of tissues.

I'm so sorry for your loss. As DoggyMommy said, we are all too familiar with your pain. That picture of Jasper is magnificant. It would be nice to honour Jasper with his own thread in this forum, if you wish to. Deborah

So sorry for the loss of your Jasper. I lost my Sammy to bone cancer in September and I still cry and hurt over him. Take the time you need to grieve and as the others said, feel free to start a new topic and tell us about Jasper if that helps.

Thank You for all of your kind words, and your right! We should all have a place where we can discuss and honor our passed on "Family" members.

This Sat it will be the one year anniversary of my buddies passing. Konan was the best ever. He loved his mommy and daddy. He was our first born. We have no children so he was like our child. Please keep my husband and I in your thoughts this weekend as it will be hard for us. Thanks

Muchkin, you and your husband will certainly be in my prayers. I know how hard it is to lose your best friend. You should start your own thread for Konan. Thinking of you, Oliver's Mummy, Deborah

Re: Muchkin,
Konan was so beautiful, from the sounds of it, you and your husband gave him a wonderful life, I am sure he has been and will definitely, be with and watching over, you and your husband this weekend and always, until you join him someday on the other side.
My heart goes out to you both, as you grieve over such a great loss.
You were all three very lucky to have had each other for the time that you did, I hope you give yourselves credit for making the time he did have so special and how special you are, to understand how your dog should be treated, as there are all to few dog parents out there, that do.
Sincerely,

God how I love this poem. My sister typed it up and framed it and gave it to me when my own dog of 14 years passed.

I've written two replies.
I can't really take much more of the computer deleting them before I finally disolve with sentiment so I will simply say thank you for the message of warmth and hope, it truly helped when I needed it most.
