Thank you to everyone who posted prayers for me & Sable. What a beautiful poem The Rainbow Bridge is! And right before going to church. Prayers to everyone here who has lost a baby. So very hard. Thank you, thank you a million times over. Blessings always.

I cry every time I read The Rainbow Bridge . It is so comforting, yet so sad - it brings back all the memories. From Bandit, my "mothering" Sib to Perky & Patches, a parakeet / rabbit duo who used to enjoy a bit of wine together. (I allowed them a couple of sips every once in a long while.) I am planning to paint a mural on my spare bedroom wall of the Rainbow Bridge meadows, and put in as many of my menagerie as I can. I think memorializing them that way will be cathartic for me. (If I extend the painting, I could fit Sequoya, Emma, Fredo, and others in as well.) I have the painting pretty well sketched out so when I regain my get-up-and-go (which got up and left), I will get at it! If I ever finish, I'll post a pix.

My son once told me the only person who would have more pets greeting them at the Rainbow Bridge than me, would be Noah.

I'm extending warm comforting hugs, and happy memories, to all who have lost a beloved pet.

I loved the poem! I nearly cried because it made me think of my old dog Toby running up to greet me like he used to before he died. Thanks so much for sharing! :)

We put our beautiful baby girl down today, on Christmas. She couldn't take her cancer any longer and held on as long as she could. Of course, her dad and I are beyond grief-stricken; our eyes burn from so much crying. But, I absolutely LOVE the Rainbow Bridge poem. It is such a beautiful, comforting idea. God, I hope it's true; I can't wait til I meet my precious Jiffy again.

This thread is an older one and is a "sticky" so everyone can see the poem The Rainbow Bridge.

I am locking this thread as future condolences can be posted in the individual threads in this Section.
