Ajax is now at the Bridge

Postby Doggymommy on Sat Jun 14, 2008 4:05 pm

This is very hard to write,so I will keep it very short. Ajax has been limping for a few days on his back right leg and Keith and I didn't think he was moving his hip correctly. We took him in for hip x-rays yeaterda and it was confirmed that he was severely dysplastic. Since he was so young and would have to be on pain meds forever and with how bad his hip was probably would be lame by the time he was he about 2 or 3. We and the Vet, felt that this is no way for a puppy to live.

We put Ajax to sleep at 1:45 today. He turned 5 months old today. We only had him for 3 short weeks.

I just wanted you all to know. He is not in pain anymore and for this I am grateful, and I know Dakota and all our other past dogs met him there and they are having a ball showing him around.

Ajax, mommy and daddy love you and will never forget you. Rest in peace my baby.

I am so so sorry. What a shock for you both. I've tears streaming down my face as I type. Just when he was settling in. At least he had those three weeks of intense love. My heart goes out to you

I usually don't go to the "Rainbow Bridge" Forum, and I just decided to today.
When I saw this post up at the top my heart stopped for a second. I literally couldn't believe it.
I am so sorry for you guys. Ajax seemed to be fitting right in with Echo and Cinder and he appeared to have all the makings of a great dog. It's so sad that he had such a short life. Luckily though he got to spend the last part of it with you and your dogs, and I'm sure he loved every minute.
So sad for you

I don't wish to add to your pain, but just wanted to add my condolences. It's very hard when we have to make that awful decision. Sooooo sorry about your loss. Hope you and family are doing better now.

Thank you Night Crawler,

We are trying to move on, as all of us have to do whenever we lose a family member. Cinder and Echo are just now starting to re-adjust. They both adored Ajax and up until the last day or two were acting depressed and looking for him.

They now seem to be back to their happy selves.

He will always be in our hearts forever.

That's so sad... that's why dogs are so amazing, though.. they're so understanding,
no matter what seems to happen to them or those around them..
