Hi Burton,
It does get easier with time, O.H and I still miss Chloe (and Amos ) a lot but now it seems the memories are just as likely to make us smile as well as cry. We still rush into the house after work expecting their warm welcome home. For me it's the worst time of the day.

Hi Burton, they say time heals all wounds, but I think time just dulls the wounds and then BAM something reminds you and you are right back to where you started.

What I have found is that bringing a new pup or dog into the house makes it a bit easier. You still never forget and the pain is still there, but your new addition needs you and that gets you out of your depression and back to the issues at hand. A new loving baby that needs you just as much as the one you have waiting at the "bridge"

What a beautiful dog she was, and she was so lucky to you guys. Marcos Dad is at work but i can tell you 150% agree with Doggydaddy. Marcos dad hardly EVER shows emotion or shows it at all...

I also think that the best cure against the loss and the depression which follows would be puppy. I have lived my whole live with dogs, but right now my working situation doesn´t allow to grow a puppy. Sometimes I think should I change my job therefore? It sounds for people who don´t have a dog outrages, to quit a job which is an important career step and pays well, but implies actually no puppy, because my partner and I work both at universities and I have to travel a lot. My partner could take our dog with him to his office, but also only because she was an old lady, very popular and a kind of well behaved.
I still don´t know, however I am looking for a different job, which allows me to be more at home. I guess the strong wish for a dog is more important.
Did you all get another dog straight away?
