When we got Konan I didn't want another dog. We had a pit at the time and I thought that was enough. We went to "see" him as my husband said and he knew that I would fall in love with him instantly, and I did. He won me over at first sight. We had him for almost 9yrs when I found him laying as far away from the house as he could get. I was feeding them and he didn't come up to the house when I called for him. I looked at the other two puppies I have and said "where is Konan" and they went toward where he was at but would not go all the way there. So I took a look for myself and it became the most horrible day of my life. He never showed any signs of being sick and it was not cold enough for him to have frozen, I didn't know what could have happened. My husband was a work and I was by myself and I called him crying and trying to tell him he was gone. He came home to bury him and to calm me down. Well it hit me hard but the next day after it all sank in it hit him harder. They were best friends. If my husband was in the back yard then Konan was on his heels. He loved to be around my husband. He loved to play pranks on Princess by tipping her food bowl over after it was just filled. She use to harass him at the food bowls when they were younger. He learned that he was tall enough to reach the door bell with his nose and that he got a response from us when he did. So he would ring the door bell when he wanted to come in and when he wanted food. So you can imagine now how we feel when the door bell rings. He passed away Jan 31, 2008. This week end is the anniversary of his death and it is going to be hard on my husband and I. We still have our other 2 so that is great but we miss him.
