Hi Deborah,
yes that was in Ireland in the 1960's,...J F Kennedy was a very friendly man,..each day after we escorted him,..he made a point of speaking to all 36 of us,..when he was heading home to the USA,..he presented us with a gold tie pin,..of the PT Boat he was on during the war,...PT 109,...nice gesture,..i liked him.

I worked in the American Ambassador's residence in Dublin,..when Richard Nixon and Ronald Regan were there,...they were just ok,..nothing like JF.

Philip enjoy Galway! I have been to the Tower of London but I'm afraid to say how long it has been since I was there. The Crown Jewels are amazing and I was also fascinated with Henry VIII's suits of armour. I think it was 1976 although I have been back to London (not Ontario!) since. I miss England so much. Now I also wish to visit Ireland. I am planning a "trip of a lifetime" for my boys, but that is a few years away.

yes i had a whole day in the Tower Of London,..and recorded it all on camera,...they only allow a few of the Crown Jewels to be photographed,....perhaps i will start a thread covering that visit,..and other places,...mmm,...might do so!.

i am late tonight,..well it is morning here,...0055hrs,...but i will be on line for a good length,....so you came all the way from Canada to visit the Tower Of London,...what an interesting place to visit,...keep that planned trip of a lifetime for you and the boys alive,..they will always remember it. Ireland is someplace you will see a lot more of,...while i am still around.
