Reading.....books.....what are they??? (LOL) I love to read. It is one of my favorite past times. However, since Kody came home, he is the primary recipient of all the attention and extra time that I have right now. I'm sure I'll get back to reading when Kody is say.....2....(kidding). He's only 5 months so he needs constant attention and supervision so when he will just lay and chew a bone for a while like our olders ones used to do, I'll get back to reading then. Until then, we are just enjoying all of his puppy energy.

HA HA, I know what you mean, Taz and Cinder will amuse themselves, but Echo, he doesn't even like it when I sit at the computer. He wants non stop constant attention

I don't mind one bit. He is only gonna be a puppy for so long so he gets my attention right now. It's amazing how much I love that little guy.

Just got a new book, it is so funny. It is called "Bad dogs have more fun" by John Grogan, the same author of Marley and Me. It is a book of short stories.

Really funny stories and not a long book. I really think you all will like it.

I am also into "coffee table books" and I got a new one of those as well. It is called "101 Salivations" (for the love of dogs) All photos, with just the name of the dog and the breed. It is wonderful. Would make a great Christmas present for the dog lover in your life

the last book I remembered reading was my company book on policies and procedures  I did not enjoy it at all, there were no pictures and the font was small it made my eyes bleed  . Do books on cd's count? I'm not much or a reader even at school but really enjoy listening to book on tapes or cd's. The one I just finished is titled Become a Better You by Joel Osteen. It's really inspiring, it helps uplift your soul and he talks about ways of becoming a better you in a spiritual sense

Thoughts on books

Postby Kody's Mom on Mon Dec 22, 2008 9:12 pm

I was thinking. It seems like more than a few of us like to read and for as much as I have read over the years, I have a ton of books just lying around the house. We should come up with a plan to exchange books. Like, if someone is looking for a book to read, post a message here and if one of us have it, we can send it to you for reading or if we have any books that we would like to get rid of, we can post the titles here and see if anyone wants them.

If anyone has any better ideas, lets share thoughts. I personally don't know why I hold on to the books once I've read them because I am not one to re-read it once I've read it once.

Thoughts anyone?????

I would be interested also. I have a whole room of books. I go to yard sales in the summer just looking for books, then as I read them I sell them at our yard sales. I also am a regular at Borders, my favorite store!! And the library knows me by name!! But all kidding aside, I would be interested in a book exchange, a book borrowing to read or any other program someone wants to start. If I have the book you are more than welcome to it!! I love to share!!

Ash I've been doing Great Expectations in English - we're doing an essay on it soon, and I think it's a really well written book. We were watching but didn't finish the black and white film of it.

I also ADORE Marley & Me. I read it this Christmas and the end made me cry and cry and cry  it was so hilarious though! I reeeally want to see the film when it comes out here.

I love to read. When I get a good book I just read it constantly until I'm finished and then I have nothing to read again! I do like a bit of casual non-intense reading like Lauren Brookes' Heartland and Chestnut Hill series. I like Malory Blackman's Noughts & Crosses sequence, they're excellent.

My Dad got me loads of books for Christmas. At the moment I'm reading a really curious and interesting book called 'The Knife Of Never Letting Go' by.. I can't remember who by because the book is not here it's at my Dad's house. It's some kind of thriller about I'm guessing the future, after we seem to have invaded another planet, where a war broke out and the 'Spackle' (aliens) apparently killed off all the women and set this germ upon all the men of Prentisstown that makes all their thoughts in their heads pour out loud as a big jumble of words and images. But the main character, Todd, appears to have been lied to and he's been sent out on a mysterious mission, not knowing if his 'parents' Ben and Cillian are alive or dead, to "warn them" whoever they are about something he doesn't understand, and he discovers there actually are women after all. And people are after him, trying to kill him. All hasn't been untangled yet and the book is hugely thick and I'm only about a tenth through it. Extremely intriguing and quite gory at points! Now I really want to read some more...
