Wow a lot of action here scince I saw the thread last :) I hope nobody minds advice and please pass it along to me as well as I plan to start a drawing in the next few days im deciding between 2 shots atm.

Snoopy what great work I especially love the 1st one because of the pose & that pooch is adorable :)Would you mind some advice that was given to me? Dont be afraid to go dark( like you did with the eyes) it would really make it pop.Thats was & still is the running thing with me in fact my deer that I won a ribbon for was after some artist friends kept pushing me to go blacker. So I went all out and did a pitch black background which forced me to go blacker in the drawing. Another tip try a coal pencil for your real black blacks like pupils noses etc.

Phyrie Awesome exercise & I can see your learning to graph great tool isnt it? really the pencil line things depends on your style wether its a sketchy type or photorealistic. There are a lot of blending methods you can use as well & different type of pencils/mixes of mediums. I know what you mean im still learning this medium myself and it is slow and hard imo.
Btw most artists will do adjustments to the digital to make it look like the original because often they wont photograph or scan correctly especially blacks they tend to be see through. So keep that in mind when comparing your work.

Nightcrawler I was terrified in the beginning to post my work to the art forum I go to.I am so glad I did because ive learned so much not just technically but about myself from doing so.Like Lokis mum said we can learn from each other.Heck my friends 9 year old who I taught to draw teaches me stuff all the time now :)
