Ok I need your prayers

Postby muchkin on Thu Feb 19, 2009 7:35 pm

As most of you know I work for the Emergency Services in my hometown. But what most don't know is I only work part time. I got my EMT Basic about 2 years ago and I started to work part time while working a full time job in a doctors office as a medical assistant. Well about a year ago I lost my full time job due to a doctor that could be the devils wife and I haven't been able to find full time work since. I was in school at the time to become a paramedic and since then I have graduated and I have taken the state and national test to become a paramedic and failed them both. Well now a full time EMT Basic job has come open at EMS and tomorrow I am going for my assessment to see if I can get this full time job. So I need all your prayers to help me out. Right now is a really ruff time at my house with me not working full time. My part time job was enough until my county ran out of money and they cut back on the budget that we got for EMS and they cut all the part time employees hours by more then 1/2. So it really hurt me. Please if you all could say a little prayer for me it would be great.

Thanks,
Princess and Rocky's Mommy :)

You will be in my prayers tonight! Hang in there and keep trying and when it is meant to be, it will happen. Oliver is sending along the tiniest lick you ever felt  Good luck

I don't pray, but I sure do wish you the very best luck.

As the wife of an ex-logger, I remember too well the sick feeling you get when you're laid off from your job. My husband was usually laid off twice a YEAR, in the heat of summer (too dry to run machines in the bush) and winter (too cold/icy).

My son is out of work in Calgary right now, and my daughter has had her hours cut by three-quarters! She's applied to the LPN program at her local university, and she most likely will be accepted. She wrote her intake exams yesterday and aced them. She just needs to finish the Biology prerequisite (she's almost all the way through) and she'll be in. She's nervous about going back to school full time, though.

We'll keep our fingers and toes crossed for you. Let us know how you make out, OK? And kudos to you for your career choice. I have great admiration for people in service, especially medical service.

I am scheduled to take it again next Friday 2-27-09 but I may hold off on it for another month if I get this job. I am still unsure about somethings on the test and I really don't feel ready to take it again. I have had a lot of stress on me the last two times I took it and I hope if I get this job some of the stress will be gone and I will feel more comfortable taking it. Because all you get is 3 times and then you have to take the course again.

Again thank you all so much for your finger/toe crossing, prayers and thoughts!!!!

It sounds like a wise move to put it off until you feel more ready. You don't want to do the whole course again. Do you have a mentor to help you with the bits you're unsure of?
Good luck with the new job. I have my fingers crossed that you get it. (I don't pray)

Ok everyone I did my assessment for the new job today. There were 6 of us that applied and I think that I did good. Now I have to wait until the middle of the week to find out if I got the job or not. I will post something as soon as I know. Thanks again to you all for supporting me in this. :?

Good for you Muchkin, you made the shortlist! Every thing will happen as it is meant to be and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Loki's Mum had some sound advice regarding writing the exam. It would be best to wait until you feel ready. I'm feeling confident for you! Hugs from Oliver and Deborah (and a wee lick too, from Oliver!)
