Oliver's Mummy wrote:Beautiful pictures!!! We too have the wild turkey's but I have been unable to capture them as close to my house as you have. I can so relate to all the snow! We receive "lake effect" snow. You have a good attitude towards shoveling  I agree that it is time for Spring! I want to see colours. It's funny when we go places that aren't used to snow and they shut down everything for an inch of the stuff. Maine is gorgeous

The reason everything shuts down for an inch of the stuff is that you cant change to snow tyres, you cant put snow chains on or do anything else drastic because 20 miles down the road there isn't any snow. People moan all the time in this country that the place grinds to a halt when we get some snow but what do they expect. Its' not like Scandinavia where its around for 5 months and therefore law to have snow chains on.

Loki's Mum, I do understand that. I was thinking of places like Washington, D.C. where they do have snow but always seem unprepared. I'm sure the children in those areas enjoy a snow day

I had a friend a few years ago that her OH had been transferred to South Carolina. It almost never, never snows there. The first week he was there they got 2 or 3 inches. Everything came to a halt!! There were wrecks everywhere. He was astounded because that is nothing here, but the town didn't have snow plows, salt or anything!! Plus it didn't help that everything there was hilly!!

Well I'm sure no one expected snow in New Orleans and I was mostly thinking of places that do get snow, but just hope it doesn't come.

The snow in Maine is beautiful and since I receive the local Boston news, I know there is a storm moving up the east coast, so good luck Donna! I was hoping you would have the thaw we're enjoying, but it is turning colder again. I really hope you are spared Donna.

Donna, I've been watching the forecast with you in mind. I do hope you are spared. It was so lovely here on Friday and it's just bitterly cold again, but no snow. I think you are supposed to have quite a storm. I'm thinking of you, and I too want Spring in the worst way! I hope your power stays on and you stay warm and safe. Keep us posted angel.

You know, Donna, those Turkeys look like they want to come right on in and live in your house with you. Wouldn't that be wonderful? They are soooo close.

Bitterly cold all day, and I did a lot of shoveling. We got about 12 inches, but this time it was much more light and fluffy, still my arms are killing me tonight, and am finding it hard to type, like my fingers froze?!

Donna I was talking all about you to the OH this morning as the Today Show wasn't on due to the storm coverage from Boston! We used to receive Detroit local news and since switching to Satellite, we now receive Boston. I was watching the radar to see how far up into Maine the snow was going. I hope it's all over for you now.

I think that this year, we may have to shovel mud! Move the dirt back where it should be!

I was thinking of you and all of that snow this morning.......do you have problems with flooding in your area once it starts melting? We have flooding problems in our county (not right in our area) if we get a lot of snow and it melts fast. Just wondered how your area was with THAT much snow!! :D
