Wow lots of nice lookin' cats on here

haha, here are my 2. Tommy and Rocco. They're brothers and I rescued them both from the streets when they were 3-4 weeks old. They're the best cats I've ever owned.

There are some on page twenty but none from the last few weeks because we don't have a working camera in the house at the moment.

I might be getting a new kitten!
The cat at my work (I work at a veterinary hospital) was brought in by someone who had found her on the street. We named her Amelia and proceeded to give her a check-up. After a suspicion and an ultra-sound, we find out she's pregnant with 3 kittens! We anxiously waited for weeks until finally Amelia popped out 3 teeny kittens. 2 males, 1 female.
The female is black and white, as is her brother. The other brother is a tabby. At first I really wanted the tabby, just because he looked a lot like him mom. But I worked friday - monday and I got to spend a lot of time with them. They're 3 weeks old, and just learning to walk, so they're a bit clumsy  I noticed the black and white male was always very interested in what I was doing. After a few shifts I noticed that he'd run out of the kennel that they sleep in and climb onto my lap. I think this is one of those moments where your pet picks you, I don't want to pass it up!
I brought my mom to work Sunday morning because I was working alone. We brought Gunner along with us so we could weigh him (because he looks like he's lost weight!) and I had secretly planned to show my mom the kittens (I knew once she saw them, she wouldn't resist!). I held Gunner and put my mom in the room with the kittens. Twenty minutes later she comes out with a big grin on her face. So later I asked her if I could get one. I offered to pay for all his vet bills, and essentials, because I have a job now, it wouldn't be a problem. She said "maybe" - but I think it might be a yes, Gunner started off with a "maybe" :)

I don't have any pictures of him on my camera, but I'll take some on Monday. I'll show you all :) He's such a cutie!

...sorry for such a huge post! It felt like I was writing a story lmao!

Back to reality with a bump.

OH had to take Ember to the vets this morning as she'd been run over at the weekend while I was away. It wasn't looking good. She wouldn't stand up and was hiding under our bed. I had the car so OH had to take her on the bus which meant going to a different vet. Our usual vet is very good but very expensive and I wonder sometimes if they do things unnecessarily (for the profit). I had avoided using the local vet because he has a reputation for having no people skills and I always feel bad enough when I'm at the vets without someone making me feel worse.

The vet was very sensible. He examined her carefully, said that he couldn't feel any long bone fractures but thinks she may have a fractured pelvis or bruised pelvis. We won't know without an xray but as he pointed out the treatment would be the same regardlesss so what is the point in putting her through it. She is on bed rest and feeling very sorry for herself.

It's easy at the moment she wont put any weight on her back legs but of course I have to keep washing the bedding.

Progress report:

Ember is able to stagger a few steps although she falls over when she puts her weight on one of her back legs. She is a very clean cat and so is determined to make it to the litter tray and back. She is convalescing in Idun's crate in the sitting room. That way she gets company but no one is able to harrass her. There is plenty of room too for her to have a bed in one end and the litter tray in the other. I'm very pleased with how she is getting on.

Here is my "baby kitty" Mandie. She passed away this past August due to old age, she was 23, so maybe she's not so much my "baby kitty" any more. But we will always love her, because she NEVER hissed, scratched, or bit anyone, even though she was abused as a kitten.
My mom rescued her from an abandoned apartment when she was in college, and they had lived with an evil owner who just left Mandie and her litter in a dirty closet. Nobody wanted to take Mandie, of course because she was the old cat and she was scraggly, everyone wanted her kittens. But my mom just felt so bad for her because Mandie kept searching and crying for her babies - so my mom picked her up and the last one of her kittens (who also died at age 11 from cancer). Becuase her old owner was a male, she had been afraid of deep men's voices ever since. She has never been mean to anyone though! Mandie means "loved one" and that still remains true even though she's up at the Rainbow Bridge now.
Here are her pictures:
