I'm not a girly enough girl, I guess. I have to ask: What is a D&B bag?

You are so girly enough, and generally they are hard to find in Canada...They are a Dooney & Bourke handbag. Dooney & Bourke started as the boot makers for British officers, and evolved into makers of leather goods today.

I saw your beautiful manicure in one of your flickr pictures, so don't try telling me you aren't "girly" enough!

Deb, you always say the nicest things. I do enjoy good grooming, and was taught by my mother (from whom I inherited the long nail beds and nice nails) to care for my hands. I learned to push back my cuticles, probably by age 8, and do it without thinking now. I tried to teach my children and succeeded with the girl; the boy, not so much. Both my grands know what pushing your cuticles back means, but they don't necessarily do it, unless I'm around. Even my husband does it! There's not much worse than a man's hand with the cuticles all grown over and neglected. *shudder* Have I mentioned that I'm a little OCD?

Here's a pic of my hand after I gave myself some tattoos a while ago. It was fun, and they looked at me very strangely in the local grocery store! LOL! Since I'm not the type to mind making a stir...

PS. Deb, I actually, finally, loaded a couple of pics of me to that flickr account. I'm nervous about it, but I bit the bullet....

Phyrie, I love the french manicure and the henna like art on your hands. I am sure you raised eyebrows at the store, and like you, I enjoy doing the same. I did see one picture of you on the flickr account and you are beautiful! I think you look almost the same as you did on your wedding day, and I also think you look younger now than you did in the prom picture.

I'll have to find that flickr thingy again and have another look. There are so many pictures there of Kiba that could be entered into just about every photo contest there ever was since I've been on here! He really is gorgeous!

Marco's Mom...I get a kick out of Marco and Madison and their antics. I am so looking forward to the commotion of two dogs. I've missed it.

Phyrie,

The tattoo on your hand is very cool. Did you do that freehand?

Thanks, RJM, sadly, no, that's not one of my talents. It's decals, or temporary tattoos. I LOVE temporary tattoos! I have tons of them. I really want a real one, but I haven't yet decided what to have done. In the last few years, I thought much more seriously about it and have a design in mind. I just have to get to it and draw it. Then get up the guts to take it to the tattoo artist! My mother HATES tattoos, and I can hardly wait to see her face when/if I ever get mine! I'm a baaaad girl! LOL!

I have always loved temporary and henna tatoos. I always said I would never get a permanent one.
But ended up eating my words two years ago and got one. It's four paw prints on my left hip  not very original, but I like it :) do you know how hard it is to find the perfect paw print??
My parents also hate them, and they've seen it but to my surprise haven't said a word...which is unusual

Here's to all of us baaad girls!!

Phyrie your hand with even with a temp tattoo is beautiful as are your nails. I use to have acrylics and even learned how to do them, no time now. That reminds me, how is your art classes going? May need to bring that thread up again.

Thanks, Kian. The hands and nails I got from my mother, along with the instruction on how to care for them. Even though she was a professional typist (in a hospital's medical records dept.) her nails were always beautiful.

The art is going OK. I have been neglecting the drawing classes and concentrating on coloured pencil. Truthfully, I've been neglecting both lately, but have been working harder this week on a couple of pieces. Thanks for asking!

 I do! I thought about getting a tattoo and wanted something special, since I'll have it forever. I decided on a paw print and went a couple places and didn't like what they had. I finally decided I should get Charlie's paw print...I got his foot wet with water and then had him step on paper. I then traced that and took it the tattoo artist. It's very simple, but it's his print. I've never been sorry I got it and have been thinking about adding his name, adoption date and then someday (gulp) his passing date.

I think I've watched too much TV...I like Miami Ink on TLC and have seen some really cool pet portraits they have done. I'd even do that IF I could find an artist who would do Charlie justice. I know most think that is over the top...but I do love that dog.

A friend of mine has decided to get one...something about a butterfly and then adding a bed of flowers. Symbolism is a ugly catepillar to a beautiful butterfuly...ugly 1st life (marriage) to a fulfilled, blessed 2nd life with a great marriage, family and friendship. Flowers will be family, friendship -- kind of cool I think, can't wait to see how it turns out.

Kris, I know of someone else who did that with their dogs paw print. That's a great idea with the dates.
I wish I would have done that, but I still like mine :)

I've been thinking of getting one of Mort, but like you said, it would need to be done by an artist that would do him justice. Eyebrows and all!!

I love the henna art on hands. I think there is something serene and beautiful in it. Phyrie, you do have beautiful hands and I noticed them even in your early Family Portrait that you posted. I would die for long, slender fingers with perfect nails. I always wanted those.

RJM and Kris, you are both way more brave than I am, and Phyrie too once she decides. Despite the fact that perhaps my body isn't necessarily the canvas it should be, I worry that I would regret a permanent decision.
