This afternoon I will be going for the first time to a shelter about 20 minutes away. They have kittens and cats there. I am going to be volunteering there weekly if today goes well. But, the exciting part of this for me is the kind of volunteer work I'll be doing!
I'll be going as photographer! I called up the director offering to take quality photos of the kittens to help them find homes. If their pictures are eye catching, people are more likely to click on them (on petfinder) first and fall in love. It's also a great way to get my name out there in the business. I'll be selecting one kitten each time to take extra pictures of. I'll then send them into the cat version of this website to be featured.
Again, helping the kittens to find homes. I'll be putting them in baskets, letting them play with toys, (I have brand new ones- so they're not full of germs!) and maybe (if I can be sure they won't run off) letting them walk around outside in the grass. That of course is a big maybe since the kittens need to have had their shots and be kept close by. I'll post some pictures on here later on today. (on this topic)Wish me luck!!!
