Phyrie's Photos-- Mourning Doves in Arizona

Postby Phyrie on Sun Jun 20, 2010 3:30 pm

I didn't want to take space in anyone else's thread, so I thought I'd share some pics of my grandparents house here. I won't post them all, but if you want to see them, I've uploaded most of them to my Photobucket account:

The Front (Gran always called the water side the Front, the roadside was the Back)

The Back- Good for afternoon beers

Dining room side (before movers have taken furniture)

Downstairs fire place (Gran chose each stone herself and hired a local stonemason to mount them for her)

Jack's Shack (Grandpa converted the front half of the huge shop into his bakery. He worked up until the last day.)

Phyrie, those views are priceless! I love the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water and mountains. No wonder your Gran loved it so much. I totally understand her way of thinking in that the water side is the front.

Thank you for sharing.

WOW with those views I see why she wanted a wall of windows.
I would love to sit on the porch and just soak in the views for hours and hours.

Thanks for sharing.

With a view like that who would ever leave. Just so spectacular and so pretty, your grandparents had a amazing home. I can picture some lovely days there with a good book and relaxing. Moving day must of been very hard.

Great photos! Reminds me of my parent's friends cottage up in Barry's Bay, Ontario that we would stay at every so often. Thanks for sharing!!

Wow what amazing views. I'd get nothing done if I lived there. I'd be gazing out of the window all day.

What a fantastic house!!! I love stone fireplaces. Good on your gran for picking every stone. Hard work trying to find stones that will fit and work together.
