Black and white ARE the DP colours, so I think that would be totally appropriate!

While I won't be able to attend, I am so envious and have kept up with the thread. The three Chias together sound fabulous. What a ball for the pups!
I hope with the order of the shirts, they may be available for those of us, as well, who are unable to attend in person. I know many of us will surely be there with the gang, in spirit. It would be a nice momento for all the members who love DP.

Lucky and I want to go. Dog gone it I need a babysitter for the men around here . Autumn and Trixie couldn't keep these 2 in line.Besides I'm the only one that drives. Even if I don't get to go I'd love a shirt.

Brenda, Hopefully you can find a way to be able to go, it would be great if you could.

Those men of ours! The HO keeps asking, "But what will I do when you're gone?" .
I know Ruby and Kessler will be fine, it's the HO that's questionable!

Sher, when I read this, I thought, what "Chia Pets" is she talking about? Did I miss something?! LOL!

Which reminds me, totally off topic: have any of you seen the Obama Chia Head? I was appalled to see the commercial, and I'm not American!! They also have Chia Washington, Chia Lincoln and a couple of others I can't bring to mind right now. Is anyone else as offended as I am by the idea of growing President Obama a green wig?

LOL Phyrie!!!! Obviously we watch the same channels as I've seen that ad for the Chia "Presidents". It is lacking in taste to say the least. Peter had heard about it, but had missed it and finally was able to see it yesterday. Atrocious.

As far as the shirts are concerned, I can't see why anyone who wishes to order one couldn't have one. First we'll have to establish a supplier, but I am confident that can be arranged. It also helps to order more items than less, so I think the more the merrier.

Since the actual meeting is not intended to happen until July, I am planning to wait until January to start looking at these things in earnest for feasibility. Keep the ideas flowing though!

I've not seen the Chia Presidents yet. It seems nothing is off-limits anymore these days.

Regarding the DP shirts, I was thinking a trail of paw prints somewhere on them would be cute, maybe going around the shirt from front to back, along with whatever design is decided upon. Just a thought! :D

I like the idea of paw prints too RJM.

I haven't seen those chia heads either. Maybe they are only selling them in Canada? I don't like it.

I have no problem going along with whatever is decided on the shirts. I'm not very creative or very picky. I would really like to see everyones different ideas and designs though and help to make a decision.

Linda, I didn't like it either. If it was Canadian Prime Ministers, I don't know if I would be as bothered some how! Weird, right? But IF I was an American, I would be pissed right off. We Canadians are patriotic about our COUNTRY, but not our politicians so much. You Americans are SO patriotic, I'm very surprised they are even able to sell the likeness of the president (should that be capitalized?). Paul says he must have signed off on it, but I highly doubt it. I can't imagine anyone, let alone the American President, allowing themselves to be cast in "Chia"!!

Any pattern is fine with me. I would prefer black on white, rather than white on black. I would choose a button up baseball-type shirt over a T-shirt, but a Very Large T-shirt would be OK too. As long as the neck line isn't too tight. I HATE that!! :)

Linda, Phyrie and I are seeing these ads for the Chia Presidents on American stations, not Canadian ones. I'm not sure we can even buy the Chia Presidents here in Canada.

We are odd about our politicians with maybe the exception of Pearson, Diefenbaker, and of course Sir John A. Macdonald. If they had certain Hockey players as Chia pets that would be huge here, or a can of beer, or a toque. Perhaps even the Houses of Parliament might cut it, but no one wants a Stephen Harper Chia Pet, and most certainly not a Trudeau. LOL!!!

RJM, I like the idea of paw prints being on the shirts!

I know a supplier here in London, if they are still around, whose prices were quite reasonable. I intend to visit their offices and make inquiries explaining roughly what we want and asking for shirt styles and sizes, along with prices. If we do a simple print, rather than any type of embroidery, it will keep the costs down.

Also, if we take orders ahead of time so that anyone who wants a DP shirt can buy one, that will help too.

Phyrie, like you I can't stand tshirts with a tight "crew" neck. I prefer a v-neck.

I'm so pleased that this trip is coming together so well.

I think a Trudeau Chia would be hilarious!! Does chia grow long enough to show off his long hair? LOL!

Phyrie, by the three Chias, I meant Jose, Gizzie and Stewie. Maaybe I used the wrong term for Chihuahuas.

I haven't seen the Chia plants of the president or other political based themes as yet but it really doesn't surprise me. Anything seems to go with advertising nowadays. While I do not especially care for certain politicians, I respect the office they hold, same as lawyers and doctors, as their chosen profession. I think Obama would be rather cute as a Chia. Nuff said.

Thats interesting that its on American channels. I do know advertisers can choose areas that they want to advertise their products in and the commercials would only be shown in those areas and not in others. I'm curious now. I'll have to start asking people I know who watch different channels if they have seen those commercials. Interesting!

I've heard of the presidential Chias. Amazingly disrespectful...but I'm sure they will sell.

However, the discussion of a Trudeau Chia made me laugh!! Have any of you actually made a Chia Pet? I got a Hippo one Christmas from a friend. They are really weird...

Margie, we've never had one but I've always thought the "right one" could be fun and funny, like Garcia Chia.

Linda, I think I've seen the ad on one of the "Super Channels". The one we receive is out of Boston, but there is one out of Chicago and one from LA. The channel in LA started as a local network channel, KTLA. The one I've seen the ad on is WGN, I believe. Peter knows all of this stuff. I grew up with one channel...the CBC.
