I am so excited about this, and that it looks like so many will be able to go!!

Alina, I'm sure with all of the people that close something can be worked out

I do have to agree with Kian though, we probably won't be able to go until summer either. Our plan to begin with was to go whenever Kian & her OH could make it to Indiana and we all go together. Plus we want to show them a lot of the sights here in Indiana while they are here. So if possible lets try to plan it for mid summer.
Deb is it very hot up in that area during July?

Have I already mentioned, I AM SO EXCITED!!

Summertime is perfect, and yes it is quite hot in the summer, but we're all used to that.

Oh I am SO excited!!!!

I will certainly make sure that we find a place that will accommodate dogs!

I was initially planning on going all by myself, but if some dogs are coming, then I may just bring my two  and Elliot as a helper. He is fine with dinner in the room while we all go out for a lovely evening, and it's cheap labour  He could even keep an eye on everyone else's dogs and contact us if one of them is making a fuss. He could be very helpful and he really wants to be included.

I won't be offended if anyone has objections to children joining us. He'll be 15 by then, but if someone has had it "up to here" with the young ones, just say so. I really don't mind if it's adults only! (I would not want to foist my child on anyone.)

I am also going to ask the DP Administrators permission to use the Daily Puppy name and arrange this as an "official" trip. It is terrific advertising for our website!

I am envisioning a banner in the Lobby of Hotel welcoming all Daily Puppy Members to the "Daily Puppy Tour 2011", or something similar.

Alina, while I realize RJM is close to you, if you are going to grab a flight, you might as well fly into Buffalo (probably for the same price) and either rent a car to cross the border from there, or hitch a ride with someone passing through that area. Mind you, it would be far more fun for you and RJM to "car pool".

I love the idea of Kristen and Margie car pooling as well!

Brenda, we would love to have you darling.

You know who else wants to come with us....Biggsie! He knows I have no intention of bringing Peter and that would be too hilarious. I told him I would have to see. I'm not sure he's entirely serious, but he does feel a connection to the DP.

I have already thought of several contacts to make on our behalf.

THIS IS SO EXCITING!!!!!!

Wow, Niagra Falls. I have not been there. My sister went a couple of months ago with her Bunco group. They had a blast. Sounds like fun.

Aww man I want to come! That's basically completely across the US for me though. I'll have to see what I can do!

Deb, I'll have to see. Once the dates are set, I can look to see if it will work out. It would be so much fun and I'd bring the champagne.

Right on Cyndy!!!

Chandra, keep it in mind. Perhaps you can find a way, but I do realize that it is far for you. Last year a couple of people had a meet up in Calgary, Alberta, which would have been much closer.

Everyone is welcome!!!!!!

Yes Cyndy come!!! Everyone welcome! (are we meeting on the Canada side?)

It will be such a joy to have Elliot join us, after all we have come to know him so well and he is part of DP and our lives. Yes by all means bring Elliot and to meet Oliver and Henry as well just makes me

Biggsie to, oh this would be fun. He sounds like he can take our teasing just fine and dish it back.

A banner in the lobby, what a delight that would be.

Kian, the Canadian side does have more to offer and that is really where one can see the Horseshoe Falls. The American side is much smaller and there isn't as much to do on that side. I've been to both.

Biggsie can certainly be the life of any party. He is funny, and he could more than handle us! Could we handle him...that's the question.

You are so sweet about Elliot. He loves the idea of coming along. He feels as if he knows everyone on here, and he could be a big help. However, with that being said, I do understand that sometimes grown ups don't wish to hang out with teens or children. I actually like the idea that a 15 year old boy wants to hang out with grown ups.

I am wondering if Kristen would bring Bailey. I'd love to meet that little chappy along with Gizzie and Jose.

Would you be bringing Ice and Allie? Would Linda bring Sadie?

There are no issues crossing the border with the dogs. I always make sure to have their vaccination records with me, but I've never been asked to produce them.

If I were to be able to go, I would definitely bring Bailey.

Margie, we'll have to keep in touch regarding car pooling. :) Save some money by splitting gas and have some company for the long drive!

For those who have been there before, how dog friendly is it? Would we be able to bring the dogs with us to the Falls area?

Will you be our tour director, Deb? I could lead the winery tours. I've never been to them. I concur that there's nothing interesting on the American side, unless you count the statue of Nikola Tesla, inventor of alternating current. They were supposed to build some kind of underground aquarium many many years ago but I have no idea if they ever completed it. I'd have to check out cost of flights and such and probably won't bring Mr. S because unfortunately his ticket would be just as expensive as mine.

I say all are welcome!! It would be so great to meet dogs, kids, OH's, Biggsie...

Kristen, I remember seeing dogs but I found this on some random NF website:
Pets:
For travelers visiting Niagara Falls with their pets: Dogs are welcome in the park areas as long as they are leashed and cleaned up after. If you plan on crossing the border with a pet you may be asked to provide a current vaccination certificate.

Upon further digging, I found a website that has a list of dog-friendly hotels and attractions on both the US and Canadian sides.

Oh and I love the idea of Elliot coming and even helping out by staying back in the room for dinner one night with the dogs. I know Bailey isn't the happiest if left alone in a hotel room (strange place all alone, thinks we dumped him off and never coming back for him) so it would be wonderful for Elliot to be able to stay back and keep the dogs safe and happy!

I know for sure that the dogs are allowed in the area where people walk while viewing the Falls.

Alina, you are a great resource for this trip, so we'll have to get our heads together. We could be the "Tour Directors". Wine Tours are also a huge possibility. For those who do not wish to wine taste, there are so many other things to see at Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Kristen, by all means, Elliot could "dog sit" for us at any given time. He's very good with the dogs, and I know he would take excellent care of Bailey. Even if I don't bring Oliver & Henry, he could still help. I think Bailey would like Elliot. I know Elliot would adore Bailey. It would free us up to go out for dinner and know that if one of our dogs is upset, we could be reached, although I'm sure he and Bailey would manage just fine, along with Oliver & Henry.

Bailey is such a social fellow, I can picture Oliver, Henry, Bailey and Elliot hanging out in my room. Oliver would ignore Bailey and Henry while they played.

I also told Elliot that some dogs would settle on their own and not require him to go in and check on them as that might actually disturb them. He could listen at the door though.

Oliver has always settled well in his crate in hotels, but Henry hasn't had as much experience with that so I'm not sure how he will fare.
