I will stop trying to squeeze around the back of the Christmas tree. There really is nothing of interest to dogs behind there.

I will try to resist throwing my paws over the shoulders of complete strangers and hugging them when I meet them in the street. Apparently some of them find it intimidating.

I will stop putting my paws up on the bar in the pub. If I spill someone's beer I won't be invited again.

LOL!!! Idun is just curious. Loki is lucky to even be able to go into the Pub, but I'm sure he is making friends wherever he goes!

This thread is so funny. I can just picture Loki bellying up to the bar in the pub. I am sure he would clean up any beer that was spilled. LOL

The pubs here are very dog friendly. The one we go in, The Crown, has a sign outside which reads " Children, dogs and well behaved adults welcome" Loki is in love with Jo, the bar-maid and I think it is mutual.

I don't know if Loki likes beer Sher, but I imagine he would if he tried it. I used to ride a horse years ago that loved a pint of stout.

These are all fabulous! Here are a few I could think up that Bella could take to mind :)

1. When I jump up onto the couch or chair where my mom is sitting and watching tv, I will not insist on blocking the view of the tv. Even when she tries to move me and I do not move I will learn to lean out of the way instead of trying to paw her face!

2. In the morning when I am stretching, I will not keep shoving my mother's mattress with my snout as I stretch - pushing the mattress over the other side a few inches each time

3. When mom is sitting in the chair and I'm sitting in it with her, I will not paw her face unexpectedly w/ my massive paw when she stops petting me - leaving nice scratch marks!

4. When it's time to come inside I will come in.

5. Let mom brush me even though I fidget around a LOT (because I really need to get used to it).

6. When grandma (my (beach_angel05's) mother) walks across the room and I am laying in her path, I will get up and move or lay still instead of stretch out more causing her to possibly trip over me

7. I will try to refrain from passing extremely toxic gas when I'm laying on mom's bed - especially with my tail in her face!

Chandra, the last two had me really laughing. I know exactly what you mean about large dogs suddenly moving, or standing up even, when we are quietly trying to cross their path. The last one needs no comment.

lol I don't know how dogs can release such toxic gas! It's horrible haha :)

And yes Bella does the whole getting up or stretching quite often right when someone is trying to pass. It usually results in that person pausing w/ a leg up in the air mid-step waiting for her to stop moving!

Loki and Idun both do it, the paw stretch as you are passing. According to the deerhound forum I am a member of, it can be traced back to one particular dog which is in most of the dogs' pedigrees.

Do they always do this movement when someone is trying to cross their path while they are supposedly sleeping?

That is interesting that the particular stretching movements can be traced back to one. So many people these days are very curious about their own Pedigrees. It's just as interesting when it's our dogs.

Max does that a lot!
