Wow Margie, The Travelocity gnome has nothing on Herr Gruber, and he's also aged very well!

Margie, very smart way to cover up the stump! I really like that, and I especially like that gnome. I love keepsakes like that, they have a special meaning AND look good! He looks like he belongs right there

RJM, that's a great photo of your tomatoes! Margie is right, it is frame worthy!

I looked at my tomato plants closely tonight, still no baby tomatoes yet, but they are covered in blooms! I have one cucumber plant that is getting huge. I may have to move one (or two) to another spot if they all get this big  .

Ugh. Found out that rabbits eat maidenhair fern...They ate two of the three that I have. :x I sprayed the remaining one with repellent so hopefully the rabbits will stay away from that one! I have seen some growth in the veggie patch. Both zucchini have come back to life too! Maybe in a few weeks it will be picture-worthy, hee hee!!

Ugghhh rabbits. Cute as all get out, but not in the garden! Hopefully the repellent will save your last one.
I put fencing all around my little garden just because I saw two rabbits in the yard again.

I'm glad you're seeing some life in the garden! Soon it will be growing like crazy.

My vegetable garden is so full. Almost too full. I knew I was planting things close and knew I would just have to deal with it. Everything looks good and healthy though and that's what is most important.

I have a baby tomato now! Whoo hoo!! Every tomato plant is FULL of blooms too, so I think there will be lots of babies soon!

Five more radishes today  We usually grill out on Sundays (and many other days  ) but almost always on Sunday, so I'll have those radishes with a salad tomorrow with whatever is grilled!

Look what else I found in the garden today. There are buds everywhere, but this is the first bloom on the yellow bell pepper plants!

A couple of flower photos too. Color is slowly starting to return after the spring flowers died off!

And now a question for Brenda if she checks in here.

A current photo of the Cardinal Climbers. There are little fine looking sprigs popping out. Are these what actually climb, or is something else growing in there too?

Linda those are part of the Cardinal climber . They look good before long you can put a string down in the middle and tie it to your trellis and they will start to go up it. I start them this way because I can't seem to wait to get them started up the trellis LOL.

My garden is looking good also/ Photobucket hasn't been letting me upload pictures so I haven't posted . I have baby cucumbers, bell peppers, zucchini and my corn is already knee high.

Linda, I just had those little sprigs pop out on my Cardinal Climbers today, they weren't there yesterday.
Your lillies are all so pretty, mine don't even have buds yet. And it sounds like you are going to be eating lots of veggies this summer. Grilled zucchini is really good.

Brenda, Thanks for the info about using string to get the climbers started on the trellis. I was wondering how and when they were going to attach to it. :? all your veggies sound good too!

RJM I'm glad yours and Lindas cardnial climbers are doing so well. Hope the rest of the seed start to pop up also.

Kim has the clematis bloomed yet. I am to answer your question about how long it takes them to bloom and don't think I ever did. The problem beiing it depends on how old the clematis is , what type it is and such. The open at different timees , I have 6 different clematis 3 have bloomed 3 havent .It seems my purple open sooner than my white and dark red , the other one that hasn't opened is an other mix of purple but I transplanted it early this summer so its later getting going. Hope that helps alittle ,guess not , maybe the answer should be when the open .LOL

Brenda, your garden looks amazing and it's very large! You'll be eating loads of vegetables come harvest time. They are best fresh from the ground. I adore Zucchini!

At some point, Zucchini flowers are edible and are often stuffed with a Ricotta based filling or something else. I've never made them as finding the blossoms is difficult. I'm not even sure at which stage they should be eaten without harming the growing Zucchini but it might be something that would interest you for a change at dinner time, or if you are having a gathering and want to impress. They look so pretty!

I am also impressed by your lack of weeds as well as your straight rows! You are going to have some wonderful sweet corn this season! Did you plant a particular type, like Peaches and Cream, or Tri coloured, or white or yellow? It's early for it to be that high, at least around here.

I'm jealous of your lovely vegetable garden.

Jealous of your zucchini, Brenda!! Well, jealous of your flowers and veggies too!! Zucchinis have male and female flowers and it's the female flowers that produce the fruit. Last year I had 95% male flowers and only got 2 fruits from 3 plants. I've had several flowers on my two plants this year but they must be male since there is no fruit in sight, sigh. At least they came back from the brink of death.

I do sunflowers every year (dad's favorite flower) and last year they were rabbit food. :( I planted them in a big pot this year and sprayed the soil with rabbit repellent! I saw a seedling sprout today!

Brenda your garden looks so good! I'm glad you posted photos of the baby cucumber and zuccini.

I've been watching my plants and it looks like there are about 6 or 7 blooms coming out on one of the zuccini plants. I hope they are female! I want zuccini! The other plant is a few weeks behind so it will be a while on that one.

There are blooms ALL over the yellow pepper plants now. And it looks like the start of a few cucumbers. Now that I know what to look for it really helps! Thanks Brenda!!

I have baby tomatoes finally too.

The bad news is I think the radishes are done already. I asked on my gardening site why they would be going to flower on the tops already. One of the regulars said they are a cool weather vegetable. Our several days of extremely hot humid weather may have done them in  . I'm leaving them there a few more days, if they don't do anything I'll pull them out, its crowded anyway. At least I got to enjoy 7 of them!!

I already posted this in photography, but I'm posting it again here. This is my newest Asiatic Lilly in bloom. I really like this color and the inside is a very pretty color of green. It doesn't show well in this photo. I already told my OH I'm watching for the clearance at the end of the season to hopefully get a good price like Brenda did! I like the idea of surprise colors too

Wow I am so impressed with the gardens, all are looking so amazing. I have sad, sad news.......I have been letting the donkeys out to graze and fenced around the corn. Well, today they broke the fence and all my corn is gone.

I will replant immediately, re-fence better, so sad my corn was on target to be knee high on the 4th. Brenda yours looks so good, it's knee high!

Thanks Brenda for the info on the Clemetis, still no blooms.

The purple tree has now lost its blooms and it does resemble a Ash Tree of sorts.

Jeez, Kian! When you said "sad, sad news" my mind did all kinds of scary leaps! I won't say what I was imagining, let's just say I'm very glad it was only your corn! LOL!
I will tell you one thing I heard in my mind, AFTER I read about the sad news, "Uh oh, Maw! We have goats in the corn!" *vbg*

Brenda, wow! I just don't know what to say about your giant garden! You guys must really love pickles! LOL! I don't care for them myself, but I LOVE zucchini.

Linda, that pink lily looks unreal, it's so bright! Lovely. I'm particularly fond of lilies, although I can't seem to grow them. I don't like irises so much, and I can't kill those! They are tenacious little devils! LOL!

I was going to try my new camera out in the yard today, but it's very sunny, and the books say you should have overcast skies when photographing outside. Shall I just pretend I don't know that? Probably.

Edit: added missing word

Linda, All my Asiatic lilies turned orange. :? Do you know if this is something that would happen? I had some oranges, some pinks and some yellows, all planted together. Unless maybe only the orange ones survived. I planted them about ten years ago, they get about five feet tall, but they are all orange...I want some other colors too...Waaahhhhh!

Phyrie, Do you have a sunny setting on your camera? I have different settings for different types of lighting on mine, such as sunny, cloudy, incandescent and fluorescent to name a few.

Kian, I'm so sorry about your corn. The bad news announcement made me a little nervous too.
