Thanks Brenda!
This is for you, the first yellow bloom on the mini rose bush you sent me.
All the other blooms have been a cream color, but this one popped open bright yellow.

Linda your garden looks great! It really took off, I need to get out and check mine now that it has stopped raining.

RJM thanks for the picture link, I like that plant.

Brenda you have a ♥ of gold to send us those seeds.

The hummingbirds are beautiful. I'm waiting for the "windy season" to die down and then I will put up my feeder. I did look at hanging baskets, thought about the wind. It is suppose to end soon, so they say.

RJM I just love your yard art, I am huge fan of yard decor.

Alina thanks for the deer plant info, I was able to link on that at OH's work today and print it out.

Brenda I hope that isn't the tomato plant you lost during Mothers Natures wrath. Do you have a picture of the Hibiscus, I need to know the best place to plant it. I had a Rose of Sharon Hibiscus I loved at the old house. I did get more seeds planted today and the climbers were be on the fence in the front yard.

The babies are getting big!

Plant ID time, some of the mystery plants in my yard.

I thought this one might be Clematis, not blooming yet.

This one has waxy leaves and small flower buds.

Here is another picture of the good smelling one, Phyrie might have been very close, but It didn't seem like a exact match.

Top is defently clematis. I'm not sure about others.

No it wasn't the plant that bit the dust last night, thank heavens.

I wonder where the other baby bird or birds went to? They must have been peeking out of the nest too far!
Thats a shame, but glad to see there are still three.

Kian, that first one does look like a Clematis. I can't wait to see the flower open!

The second one almost looks like a bush. It branches out like a bush does. But I'm not sure.

The third one looked like mint to me, so I looked it up online. The photos of a mint plant does look like that, and it gets little purple flowers. But thats just a "guess" from me

I'm off tomorrow. Yay!!! I'm going to go look for some kind of wire fencing for the garden and compost pile. I saw a rabbit this morning  . I haven't seen any for a while, and this one was headed from our yard to our neighbors. I think it was going to graze on their garden! I haven't seen any signs in ours, but I'm sure they will find it soon enough!

Yep, clematis. Bottom one looks very much like an oregano. I guessed an ajuga, I think? Is oregano in that family? I'd have to look it up... Or marjoram. I'll have a look out in the yard. I think mine survived the first onslaught of "THE TREE", although the Bay Laurel lost it's top. Image

Oh thinks the second one is a holly bush . And I think Linda is right about the bottom some sort of mint or herb.

Hibiscus

Its bigger than what I'd like but thats a picture of them.

Sorry Phyrie your Laural lost its top.

I'm glad you posted the hibiscus photo! Where I planted that will be perfect. I've been watching for the seeds to sprout, I hope it hasn't rained too much, we need some sun now!! I've avoided pulling anything that looks different except ones that I know for sure are known weeds. I don't want to accidently pull out an actual flower sprouting from the seeds!

A few updated pics of my garden. I got the wire fencing to go around the inside since I saw a rabbit. Now I've seen two  . They're baaaaaaack!! Ugghh. Cute but not good for a garden! I may clear a patch of grass all the way around the garden box and plant the spider seeds that Brenda sent! Does it work on rabbits too Brenda? Or just bugs?

Image

The white picket fence section is for my cucumber plants to vine on. I needed something a little taller, but this was the best I could find. Thats what I get for waiting till things are well picked over!

Image

I thought at first it looked like a graveyard when I put the white fencing up  . I wasn't too happy with it, I wanted black but the black was already gone. Beggars can't be choosers! I'm happy I found some at all, and will be satisfied!

I had a few pieces left to put around the compost pile too.

I also found a trellis for the cardinal climber that Brenda sent. I love finding sale items!! The red should look good with the green Sedum showing through at the back. My seeds are soaking, I should get them planted this evening!

Image

No sign of my green beans coming up yet  . Its been 14 days and the package said 7 - 14 days. I'll give it until Sunday since we haven't had much sun. If I don't see anything by Sunday I'm getting the package back out and planting them again!

Linda, Your garden looks nice with the fence around it. I have to put something around my lavender, both the boys have been peeing on them...each plant has one section that's turned brown.

Brenda, The little birds are so cute with their fuzzy heads...LOL!

I mentioned in the chit-chat thread that I'm starting a new perennial garden. Here is the before picture and some of the plant I'll be using. The area is almost full shade, so if anyone has plant suggestions, I'm all ears.

Before...plain and bare...Yuck!
I'm going to come out at a 45 angle from the back corner of the building to the post on the far left of the pic, then straight along the side of the stair supports. Now to dig out all the grass, and get the edging down, which is going to be pressure treated deck boards, as I really don't care for the Black Diamond edging.
