Uh oh, that looks like morning glory to me, and if it's anything like the stuff we have up here, you're in for world of hurt. That stuff is insidious, and almost impossible to get rid of! It tries to pull everything down in the garden, even full grown garlic! It would succeed too, if Paul didn't keep pulling it out. It's one of those kinds of plants that if you pull it out but break of a little piece of root (which is almost impossible NOT to do) it simple grows again. Horrible stuff! I think there are two kinds, though, so you might want to take some to your local garden store and ask them what you have. Sorry to be so inflammatory, but that stuff has caused more swearing and bitching out in our yard than you would believe! LOL!

Linda , I the Phyrie is right they are morning glories. The other climber has the same bloom as oither just different leaf. I will try & post picture tommorrow.

I started fixing my side of the ramp ,I have my yellow mimi rose there and a mum . I'm leaving a place for a lavender ,white ,pink and red mini roses. Since I'm the only one who cares what it looks like I started work on it today, Pulled all weeds ,turned ground over around the ones already planted and put weed cloth down then white rock. I should really feel thqt later, now hands and both legs are tingly .

I've waited all summer for help , I'm tired of waiting.

RJm ,I also think you have a small sunflower. A thought on your deer & sunflower problem , try putting the spider seed I sent you by the sunflower , the deer don't seem to like them , the odor???

I'm not worried about what it is  . It's at the park, not in my yard! It actually looks pretty at the edge of the walking trail, and its all fields around there. It looks so much like Brenda's I just had to check.

Brenda, don't overdo it! I understand about getting tired of waiting. I've been there, and just end up doing it myself.
Don't end up hurting yourself though.

The little sunflower is mine Brenda  .

Don't worry, Brenda, I totally missed that too! Sheesh, I didn't realize that I was skimming, but I must have been. Even more
Morning glories are nice out in the woods. The wild plants are strong enough to fend them off I suppose, or we would be covered in them!

Some people buy morning glory seeds and plant them . The cardnial climber can be the same way , I just pull them if the get in places I don't want them.

Linda I'm posting a pictures of both types of cardnial climber so you can see the difference.

It's your moonflower that has the heart shaped leaves! I don't remember seeing the other climber leaves, they are totally different. Thanks for clearing that up Brenda!

Since my back decided to go on strike, I don't garden anymore. Paul is unenthused about the hobby, and would rather pave the whole yard! BUT we do still grow garlic. Because I still cook, and when I cook, I use garlic. LOTS of garlic. And there is just nothing like homegrown garlic. Here is a couple of pics of this year's harvest:

Even the bunnies are interested in garlic! See the little guy in the corner?

Next job: mincing, dehydrating and freezing.

Believe it or not, aside from a few we give as gifts, we use virtually all that garlic, in one way or another! You haven't lived until you've tried seasoning your steak with garlic powder you've made yourself! Warnings to your family members that "it's stronger than store-bought" are often ignored, leading to much hilarity! LOL!

That garlic looks great there drying in the bunny barn. I have thought about growing it, I need to learn how to store it.

Morning glory aka Field Bindweed, I know that weed much too well. It is the bane of all farmers, lucky for me the Donkeys and Scout love the weed.

Linda I love that gourd and the picture, that is a very cool shot.

RJM I could never get my lilies to bloom in my pond, very pretty! I would like to try some patio water garden again, I like your a lot. I didn't know Bettas jump that high, a light mesh over the top would keep another one in. I had Goldfish in my pond, I checked on them when we went back to Utah they were doing quite well. I hope the new owners take care of them, they were getting big. I can't think about it, I was attached to them.

Question for the Corn experts! I was so excited to pick my first cob yesterday and when I went to clean it, there were only a few kennels on it. What did I do wrong? No insects, the other kennels just did not grow.

Kian, I don't have any idea on the corn. If I see my neighbor out this weekend I'll ask him. He is the garden expert, maybe he will know.

Now that's a LOT of garlic! We put garlic powder on our steaks too  . I can imagine the home made is sooooo much better than the store bought stuff.

Brenda, oh Brenda, where are you??????

RJM, I received a message from Brenda indicating that she might be a bit "hit and miss" on the DP for the next little while, but she'll be around as much as possible.

She also wanted everyone to know that she hasn't forgotten them, and of course, we miss her too!

I hope the computer issues are able to be sorted soon. I told Brenda "Don't you dare stay away too long!". She said she would do her best. :) Of course, if there are bigger fish to fry, we all understand! ♥

Kian, I finally remembered to ask my neighbor about the corn this evening when I saw him. He said different regions have different planting requirements, but since you had scattered kernels it is a pollination problem. He said try planting them closer together next time so they can pollinate. He said if you would like to pay airfare for all of us to come out there and look at it for you, he would be happy to  . These are the neighbors that I was hoping you would get to meet when you were here. You would really like them. I told him about your mini-farm :D

This plant came up in the middle of my front flower bed about a month ago. I thought it was just some late leaves that popped out of the ground. To my surprise it bloomed. I don't know where it came from, unless it was a straggler in the plants that Brenda sent me.

Brenda do you have this in your gardens and/or do you know what it is? Some type of lily?
The blooms are tiny compared to lily blooms though, just not sure.
