Ashley, I LOVE the Bridesmaid dresses as they will suit most figures, and be something someone can wear again. If there is anyone in your Bridal party that has "larger" arms, perhaps a small almost cap sleeve or short sleeve would be most flattering, and easily added. Not everyone can pull off sleeveless, speaking as one who can't! Mind you, I'm 50! :P

I also LOVE the hairstyle! That will look so pretty on you and highlight the back of your dress, which deserves to be shown. The hair pin is also a lovely touch! The Umbrella's are a great idea, as I am all about accessories.

The flowers are beautiful. I am fond of all white (I'm a "traditionalist" in that sense) when it comes to weddings, or a "Bridal White" which often has a blush of miniature pink, or Champagne in its colour. I like the idea of Vintage "brooches" which I think you mean "Broaches" or am I mistaking that for a particular flower?

Whatever you select will be beautiful, and you, my dear, will be radiant, gorgeous, and breath taking...especially for your Husband to be! All you have to do is smile. :D You will be a vision with that train and magnificent gown. I wish I could attend just to see you being married as I'm a hopeless romantic. Besides, you are one of the sweetest people I've had the privilege to meet, and I wish you nothing but only good things, always.

I just realized that I'm smiling so hard at the thought of it all, my cheeks are hurting.

I had to chuckle at your post Deb, I don't do sleeveless either! Lynners the Bridesmaids most certainly can, the dress is beautiful, simple and classy for them. Those cap sleeves are easy to attach if needed. I love the updo, that will be stunning on you. I just love everything you picked out, very good taste. What about Tashis, is she part of the wedding party?

I love Love LOVE everything you have chosen so far. I'm sure you have but if not check out
http://pinterest.com/sierranething/brooch-bouquets/, they have some of the most amazing pictures of brooch-bouquets. They also have a picture of someone with vintage brooches in the her hair. I would have never thought of doing that. Are you collecting family vintage brooches or going to yard sales collecting them? I have to say, I have never heard or seen one before, but now that I have, I think it is a brilliant idea. Your bridal bouquet will last a lifetime.

Oooh brooch, broach, I don't know! haha :) I have a few that are from family (my mom and grandmas), some that are just costume jewellry, and a few that were picked up cheap at an antique store. Everything will be silver, white, clear, and a very pale blue. Mike's mom has taken charge on it so hopefully it turns out!

I think, because it will be February, I will be getting the girls a pashmina/shawl. So far my cousin is my maid of honour, and a life long friend is a bridesmaid (both are tiny!). I am wavering on whether to ask two of my other close friends. I really want them to be a part of it, but I'm worried that they'll say no because they have very young kids and will have traveled a long way. We'll see. As it stands right now Mike has four groomsmen.

I wish I could say that Tahsis would be joining us, but it's just not feasible. Mike and I are planning on heading down to California for our honeymoon, and I think we would both rather relax than worry about finding dog friendly places and how long we've been out, etc. Mike's aunt (who has one of Tassy's sisters!) has offered to look after her so that we don't have to worry about boarding. We'll have to find someone to come in to the house and feed the cat.

Kwak, thanks for providing that link as I too had never heard of Brooch Bouquets before Ashley! I just did a quick Google search, and some of them are just lovely! What a unique idea, and a way to incorporate so many different things with meaning. :)

Kian, you made me chuckle as well about the sleeves versus sleeveless. I'm sure Ashley knows the styles that will suit her Bridesmaids, and they'll look lovely. The dress chosen is very "Audrey Hepburn" which works well with the Brooch Bouquet theme, and be something they can wear again.

I also like the idea of all the "girls" (Bride included) having some sort of Shawl/Pashmina as no matter where one is in Canada at that time of year, it can be nippy. They could be available for after the Wedding Ceremony. As far as asking your other two friends Ashely, that is a tough one. I'm sure you'll come up with the right decision. If they are going, no matter what, then you may wish to include them in the Bridal party. However, if the travel is an extraordinary expense, then perhaps not. I know you'll figure it out.

Back to the Brooch Bouquet...I also think the colours you described sound beautiful. Do the Google search as you'll see images of so many. Kwak provided a lovely array but I saw one on the Google search that fit your description to a "T".

It is probably best to Kennel, (oh my goodness, I was about to say Lynners instead of Tassy    ) Tassy because as you said, you'll be leaving for your Honeymoon directly and quite frankly, bringing dogs and/or children along does NOT a Honeymoon make!

Oh...I also loved the brooches in the hair Kwak! However, I think Ashley's idea for her hair will be perfect and sometimes less is more...I think a Bouquet of Brooches will suffice and adding more to her hair might be "over the top", but it is a beautiful idea and in fact, a very Victorian one. :D

Can all of you tell that I LOVE this stuff!

Maybe one day I'll let you see me as a Bride, in early 1990...maybe, and it was a "second" wedding as my then teenage stepsons were the Groomsmen. The party was "happening"!

Ashley, I am SO happy for you and you are going to be so radiant, so beautiful and Mike is truly blessed, as are you!
